Just a quick note to let you  know that we made our 14 hour drive through thunderstorms, horrendous rain fall and with a 1 1/2 hour detour because of a big accident.  We are dead tired….but got home okay. I got my mail out of the mailbox and I got 14 RAK’s. I will post some tomorrow. You girls are the best! I will post the winner of the 75,000 blog candy tomorrow as well.

My bed is calling me…..See you all tomorrow! And just in case you were wondering. Jenn and I didn’t stamp yesterday. We went out to eat and then hit Stamp Antonio! Good times, good times!

Yesterday I went shopping to Scrapbook Heaven with Jenn Balcer, my bestest friend. We had so much fun in the store. I forgot my camera, but Jenn took some pictures as I went crazy over some paper. Check This post on her blog.  Today we go to her house to stamp….or so we say. We hardly ever stamp when we are together….something else always comes up. Like shopping….or just hanging out and chatting. I am sure I will oohhh and ahhhh over her newly arranged stamp room. I just can’t wait!

Tomorrow we are heading back to Florida. I don’t wanna say home, because we all feel our home truly is here in San Antonio. We can’t wait to move back (even if it that is only wishful thinking. I do whisper “Get out of the military” in Rick’s ear every night when he is asleep. LOL).

I made this card right before we left for Texas. I like how it turned out, even if it’s very simple.

big-blooms-pumpkin-polka-do.jpg

I started out with a 5″ pumpkin square that I stamped with Pumpkin pie and the Paisley background.  I stamped the biggest Flower of Big Blooms  in Pumpkin Pie craft ink and embossed it with Iridescent Ice Embossing powder. Yes, I put it away before I left to Texas. So maybe I will stop using it now when I come back. LOL

The flower center is a punched out circle from the Au Chocolat Designer paper. I layered the image on chocolate chip cardstock and then taped it to the main card. The saying is from the  set Much Appreciated. The ribbon is ivory organdy and chocolate grosgrain ribbon.

All supplies are Stampin’ Up! products.

Some more pictures we took yesterday in the blue bonnets. All you digital scrapbookers….where can I purchase more digital backgrounds and accents? The ones provided by Adobe are very limited. And you Adobe Photoshop pros…who can I just put two pictures next to each other without making a page. Total beginner over here. LOL

….the sun finally started shining! We had a wonderful time. My Mother-in-law took a day off from work and we all went to get some shots in the blue bonnets. After that we drove downtown, went to the Market Square and then to the Alamo.

Definitely a time to remember.

P.S.: I got Adobe Photoshop Elements a little while ago. While being here, I just started putting together basic layouts to show you some of our photos. Please go easy on me. It’s  fun though!

Jessica is the winner! The drawing ended!

I was able to hold a downline shoebox swap yesterday at Katy’s house. It was sooo nice to see everyone. Jenn Balcer was there too and was nice enough to take a picture of my girls and I. I had such a great time! I met three of them for the very first time.

Today we went shopping. It rained all day long! Hopefully it will be nicer tomorrow, so that I can take pictures of my family in the bluebonnets.

I quick card I made before I left for a friend of mine.

I really like this trifold style. It’s just sooo cute. And what’s even better….by using double sided patterned paper, this card style is done in no time at all.

bunny-hugs-trifold-easter-w.jpg

I bet you already missed my Petals & Paisley paper use! LOL….well…I used it again. I cut a strip of 4″ x 11″ from it and scored it at 3 1/2″ and 7″. You can find a tutorial for this Cami trifold here.

I stamped that sweet bunny from Bunny hugs on a white giga oval scallop punch out from Marvy Urchida and colored him in with aqua painter and Classic inks. Next I covered the tiny tail of his with Versamark and embossed it with Iridescent ice embossing powder. I applied the versmark with the VersaMarker.

The flowers are stamped with Brown Stazon on Whisper White. They were colored with Aqua painter and classic inks as well. I punched them out with the 3/4″ circle punch, added versamark and iridescent embossing powder and embossed them as well. The Taken with Teal layer is cut out with my coluzzle. So is the window that is cut through a Chocolate Chip giga scallop oval punchout.

I wish I would have had teal ribbon to finish the card off. But the Chocolate grosgrain from Stampin’ Up! had to do.

Here is another card I made for the Glossy cardstock Way’s to use it challenge and for the Sketch challenge SC116. I couldn’t stop using that layout. It’s bad! This time it’s just the mirror image of the layout.

office-accoutrement-wt105-chalk-resist.jpg

For this one I wanted to see if you can use the Chalk Dew Drops for a resist technique. First I stamped Canvas in Pixie Dust over the glossy circle. Over that I stamped the small flower from Office Accoutrement in different colors. I then heat set it with my heat gun. If you are a patient person, which I am absolutely NOT, you could just set it aside and wait for it to dry. That never works for me. LOL I will smear it while checking if it is finally dry. So I always use my heat gun.

Then I used a sponge and Cool Caribbean classic ink over the dew drop images. I rubbed a little too hard and the center of the flowers came off. Good news though…This ink resist the classic ink.

I stamped Paisley on Lavender Lace with one of the purple dew drops. I can’t believe I am using purple. I NEVER use purple. EVER!!!! But Charmaine send me those dew drops…and two out of 8 were purple. What can a girl do? Use them of course.

The ribbon a double sided velvet ribbon from Starlitstudio. The greeting is from Office Accoutrement.

I am not so sure about this card. I am glad I tried the resist out though. I guess it’s the purple that is turning me off just a tad. I hope there are purple lovers out there reading this. Let me know if you like it.

We got to San Antonio allright. We had a perfect travel day. Cloudy skies, not much traffic. We stopped several times and traveled our 805 miles in 14 hours.

texas-photo-montage-websize.jpg

We stopped at the first rest stop in Texas, close to Orange. They have a big board walk over a swamp area. We saw a lot of wild life. Alligator Snapping turtles, regular turtles, one big ugly frog and snakes. It was a nice break from sitting in the car forever.

This rest stop had the coolest big Texas star and a Texas shaped cutout there. Lucas slit down that star form several times. I have great pictures of that.
