  1. I’d like to see some kind of creative ribbon tutorial. Not sure what it would be on, but I’m tired of the tried & true ribbon uses. Thanks for all you share with us!

  2. Look at those yummy goodies. I would like to know how you take your pictures and what kind of camera you have! Thanks!
    Misty

  3. thanks for your awesome blog & congratulations for hitting 250,000 so quickly! I think you have great info already, and I’m fairly new to stamping, but maybe a creative uses for old stash?

  4. Woo-hoo!

I’d like to see multiple ways to use an old stamp set. Sometimes when the budget is tight I can swing some new patterned paper, but not a whole new stamp set!

  5. I am new to stamping, so all of your cards and tutorials are giving me inspiration, but I would like to see a tutorial on using velum. I think it is so pretty and classy, but I don’t really know *how* to use it.

  6. I love reading your blogs and getting great ideas.
Your cards are beautiful! One thing I’d like to know
more about is Iris Folding. Have you ever tried it?
I heard it’s not hard, and the results are amazing.
    Thanks!

  7. Wow, I cannot get over how many hits you’ve had in such a short time!! You are a fantastic artist, so it’s not terribly surprising! What would I like to see? Well, I do love how you show different card folds and sketches. I would love to see more of a product tutorial and options to create them (like alcohol inks and how to make them with ink refills and alcohol …) or highlight products such as Lumiere, Pearl Ex …!

  8. Congrats!!!! I would like you to continue the sketch challenges, they are fun and easy 🙂

  9. I do like your sketches (esp. since they are easy!). I don’t think you could do one more thing…congrats on the hits!

  10. Wow that was fast to hit that number so quick! Congrats!
I also vote for a vellum tutorial and what to use scraps for.

  11. Congratulations. I LOVE your blog. Everthing you do here is wonderful. I love your sketches and would love to see some uses for lumiere. I bought it and now don’t know what to do with it.

  12. Congrats on your blog hits! I am fairly new to card making and would love tutorials on using the different color mediums like coloring pencils and especially watercolors and chalk (is chalk normally used in cardmaking?). Thanx

  13. WOW! You’re up to 250k already, that’s awesome. Well I would love to see a tutorial on wrapping a box with decorative paper using Modge Podge. I know it seems silly, but I see all these great altered items and I just don’t know how to do that sort of stuff.

    Love your blog!

  14. Wow neat candy! Is there anything else you haven’t done? Maybe some more uses for the stamping pastels…..

  15. You don’t need to enter me in the drawing. I come here for the inspiration and the pure joy of your place on the world wide web. What I would like you to talk about is….where do you get your color inspiration. do you color your image first? Do you find some PP that inspires you? What starts you on the path to your gorgeous color combinations? Oh yeah and how you choose to put contrasting pp on the same project? Do you pick one main color? Do you just wing it?
    Congrats on your numbers. HUGSSSSSS

  16. I LOVE your creations and am SO thankful you share them with all of us! I’d love to see exactly how to do the ‘paper bag purse card’ I’ve seen a few times. Can’t wait to see who wins your goodies–how fun!

  17. Wow, congratulation on reaching 250 000. I absolutely love your website and tutorioals. What I would love to see is a tutorial on copic markers. I love these markers and have a few which I have experimented with, but would love to see more tips and tricks on the use of this great coloring medium!

  18. I LOVE your blog and have loved seeing all the creative cards you’ve done. One thing I would love to know is about coloring and shading. Also the shading you do around something to make it more grounded. What do you use? Congrats and keep up the great work! 🙂

  19. Congrats.. that’s fresh… and fun!
How about a tutorial using coasters?

  20. I love paper piercing, but am not sure how others do it. Do they buy guides or measure or pierce along sketched lines…?

  21. congratulations!! i’m not surprised that u’ve already passed the 250,000 mark… i love seeing your fresh and fun creations! 🙂

can you do a tutorial on making paper bags/purses?

  22. You are awesome. With so many hits, looks like everyone agrees!! I would love to see some sort of a bleaching tutorial. I have been wanting to try this and I can’t make up my mind on what to do.

  23. I’m going to go old school and ask if there are different ways to sponge color on edges. I often see such neat sponging and then can’t reproduce it. I know…I’m a dork! :0)

  24. Congrats!! I am having so much fun with the sketches lately. I can’t really think of a tutorial I would like to see. Whatever you come up with I am sure will be awesome!

  25. Congratulations on all the hits!! I love that you started a blog, so many great ideas and i love your colour combinations! In fact I quite blatantly CASE’d (alright, out and out copied) one of your Summer by the Sea cards!!! In fact I bought the set after I saw your card! Enough about that!

As for tutorials, I would love anything in the category of the not a card (Love the 5 fold box). In the cards area, how about velum? I bought some and competely messed up my first couple attmepts, now I am a bit intimidated!!

    Cheers,

    YM

  26. I’m not surprised either. I love seeing your creations and the fun family pictures at the beach. I would love to see a tutorial on anything altered…that’s my favorite thing to do and I’m always on the lookout for something new. Thanks, Beate!

  27. Congrats on the hits! I love your blog and visit several times daily! Thanks for keeping it so ‘fresh and fun’!

I would love to see more critiques… It looks like you have a lot of resources and experience — both of your own and within in your circle. I’d be interested in your thoughts on wood-mounted versus acrylic stamps? Copic versus Prismacolor (versus other) markers? Hybrid inks versus Classic inks versus Craft inks versus Alcohol inks (etc. etc.)? Bind-It-All? Sizzix? Cuttlebug? Cricut? And on and on… I’d hate to have you duplicate info that is probably out there on the ‘net somewhere, but those are the questions on my mind lately… Stampers, old and new, love their “stuff” after all! 🙂

    Thanks so much for everything!

  28. Wow! That is huge. I love to read your blog, thanks for keeping it up so faithfully! I really enjoy tutorials and card sketches.

  29. I love checking this blog, I’m hooked! I would love to see a tutorital using pens and water colors – coloring in stamped images. What prodcuts are used, techniques, etc…Thanks for asking!

  30. Your site is one of my very favorites. The work is all so beautiful. I would like to see a tutorial using the new SU water color pencils. I’m not sure how we are suppose to use them.
    Thanks for all your inspiration!!!

  31. I love your blog and come to it daily!!! I have enjoyed altering lunch boxes but when I get to the lid…it frustrates me to no end….esp how to get around the handle…so I guess I would like a tutorial on that. I know SCS has a template but it doesn’t fit the size box I buy. 🙂 Thanks for your sketches too!

  32. Congrats on all the hits! And thanks for sharing so much great inspiration.

I liked the previous suggestion for a Lumiere tutorial, but anything and everything here is a joy to read.

  33. AWESOME! Loving the blog! I don’t know how you keep up with all that you are doing. I don’t know what more you can do, how about a tutorial on more things to make with coasters?

  34. Congratulations on reaching so many visits. I’d love to see some creative uses for using leftover pieces of paper when you finish a project. I have a huge pile of papers that seem too small to remember to use them. Maybe I’d like to learn how you store your scrap pieces of paper.

  35. Beate.. Love your blog and I’ve been easily enabled to purchase quite a few stamps over at EP thanks to your creative inspirations… I would love to see a tutorial on cracked glass. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten that technique quite right.. 🙂

  36. Congratulations on all those hits. I just love your blog and I am in awe of everything you do.

  37. Congratulations! I’d love to see more altered items.
    Claudia F.

  38. I enjoy reading your blog – I can’t think of anything right now I’d like to see more of. Thanks for the goodies!

  39. I really like to visit ANY tutorials you have done on SCS. I’m a customer, in Ohio, and I always appreciate the great ideas you have. I have made a few of them. I would like to know if you can come up with comething special for Father’s Day. My dad just came home from the hospital (after being in for 5-1/2 months) and I really need to make him something special. Thank you for being so talented and sharing your ideas!!

  40. holy cow…..can’t think of a tutorial you haven’t done, or one that i couldn’t find on scs and i love your blog – except i do get jealous of those fantastic beach scenes – so really, just need to say congrats on the numbers.

  41. I love your site, I visit several times a day see what is posted! Your blog gives me inspiration to hopefully host my own and the cards you post are just awesome! I would like to see a examples or tutorials on scrapbook paint with more ways to use them!

  42. Congrats Beate !! I love seeing your posts every day and love your challenges too! I’d like to see the Jacob’s Ladder tut or Copic Markers — don’t know too much about those. Just seen them talked about on SCS.

  43. Yummy — great fresh and fun freebies! Two things come to mind. I’m new to posting my cards, and could use some tips (tutorial) on how to best photograph them. Second, I love patterned paper, but usually take the safe route and use one pattern with solids. Are there some tips on combining two or three patterns? Other than buying co-ordinating papers (done that!) which aren’t always available. Thanks, I love checking in to your blog frequently.

  44. Ooooh la la – delicious blog candy Beate! Hmm let’s see… I love all of your tutorials so anything you come up with will make me happy. I especially love all the different little mini scrapbooks… so maybe something triangular would be fun.

    Have a great day!

    Cindy

  45. Whoo Hoo! You have so many “hits” because your blog rocks!!!! I’m sure this is very easy to do, but I’d like to know how to sponge the edges of paper. I have not figured this out after buying StampinUp sponges. Maybe because I only have stamping spots.

    Congrats on your sucessful blog!

  46. congratulations! :)i love your site. i’m a newbie so i’m still catching up on all of the tutorials 😉

  47. Thanks so much for the candy!!! I would love a new mini book idea. They have been on my mind alot lately!! Have a great day.

  51. Wow – 250,000!! That’s impressive and well deserved! I wish I could suggest what I’d like to see next, but I’m happy with whatever you post. Well, except maybe the beach photos which make me a little homesick for Florida, but I enjoy seeing them anyway 🙂 The west coast FL beaches are prettier than the NE Florida ones, too!

  52. Love your blog, Lots of great ideas. I’m coloring challenged so anything to do with that would be great!!

  53. I can’t think of a single thing you could add….so sorry I am not full of ideas…but it’s mostly because your blog ROCKS and it doesn’t need anything else. You are AMAZING!! Love the blog candy…pick me pick me!!

  54. i would love to know what kind of camera you use…your pictures are always so great…any tips on how to take good pics of your cards? thanks beate! your blog is great!
    emily anderson

  63. How exciting for you Beate, such an accomplishment to reach 250,000! I love everything you create, it is so beautiful! I’d be interested in seeing some scrapbook layouts.

  64. You are always such an inspiration, Beate! And your tutorials are the best! I recently came across a “disappearing” or “appearing” image card in the SCS gallery under All Wrapped Up. Looks complicated! I’d love a tutorial on that card!

  65. I just love your blog and your creations!! Honestly you could probably do a tutorial on folding cardstock in half and I would be totally impressed. 😉 Seriously, I would like it if you did more challenges on your blog! Keep up the great work!!!

  68. Beate, you always have such great blog candy. I’d love to see a tutorial on watercolour crayons. I just got them a while ago, but not sure which techniques to use.

  69. I enjoy your blog. I don’t know exactly what to suggest for a tutorial. I like special folded cards and other projects made with stamps. Keep up the great work! Thanks!

  70. Congratulations! Actually, I like being surprised. I think I’ve seen it all, and there it is a new tutorial and something else to add to my-to-try-list. Thanks for all the wonderful ideas, Sandra Lew-Moll.

  71. Congrats!! 250K already! That’s amazing!! I would love to see how to use modge podge. Or a tutorial on how to cover those composition books would be cool. I haven’t been able to participate in your sketch challenges as my stampin’ area is under construction of sorts, but I would love to when I’m able – so keep those coming!! :0) ~Crystal M.

  75. So many hits so fast, because the blog is awesome! I would love to see a tutorial on how you use those new Ciao Copic markers. The images really look like watercoloring and I just can’t imagine how to do that with markers.

  76. I’d like to see a tutorial on how to make 10 cards from 1 piece of paper. I’ve heard of people doing this, but I don’t know how. Congrats on the 250k – jeepers!

  78. Love all your tutorials and your fabulous cards. Would like more info about the Copic markers you use. Thank you for sharing your talents with us.

  79. Well, I can’t imagine what you haven’t taught us already! 🙂 Although, I just received my cutter kit in the mail today and would love to see a tutorial on ways to use it, or a creative way. (I’m dying to try out the “faux stitching” technique they highlighted with the perforating tool and white craft ink at regionals in VA Beach.) This little tool just may become my new best friend. . .

  80. I’m re-doing my scrapbook room. I’d like to see what things you use to keep your space creative and tidy?

  81. Hi Beate, You have a gorgeous site! Very inspirational! I’d love to see more tutorials on great scrapbook pages or on more “candy” for the scrapbooker/cardmaker! I love the beauty of your simple designs – but they all have that special something! Can you bottle it for the rest of us?

    Sincerely,

    Jan

  82. I’ve seen some cards recently with ‘twinkling h20’s’. What is this and how do you use it? I’m also clueless about how to use Pearlex (sp?) as a ‘paint’. ???

  83. Seriously you could put a tutorial for anything on here and we would just sit here with our mouths open drooling! Hee hee how’s it feel to be so worshiped?

    Chris

  87. Congrats Beate on hitting 250,000!!! I would love to see something with the Copic Markers, especially since I ordered them myself but haven’t received them yet. I can’t wait!!!

  88. I bought an “essential glue pad” by Tsukineko a few weeks ago and am starting to play around with it but not realy sure what all I can do with it. I see people raving about them so I want to be as excited as they are. Well… I know if I saw you use one, I would get inspired! Oh, and I hope I win! Love your blog!

  89. Congrats on hitting the 250,000 mark! I would love to see more sketches! I always have a hard time deciding on a layout for my card. Love your designs!

  90. I SO love your blog! What haven’t you done…I can’t think of anything right now! Thanks for your great ideas and wonderful inspiration! Keep up the good work!! Oh, and I completely love your new photo…how fun!!

  91. I can’t imagine having the time to update a blog every day-I am lucky to remember to comb my hair. Where do you budget time to create and post? I think I have tried evry new product I see sometimes just by going to a local store and seeing a demo. I did see a cool one recently using bee’s wax over an altered tag. I may have to post it myself just the photo tho as I have no idea what we did other than using the Suzi’s Melting Pot-you know anything about this wax stuff???

  92. Congrats!! :c)

Hmm… tutorials that you should do… It would be awesome to have an explanation of your creative process. You have some amazing pieces of art on here, and it would be interesting to have a little peek into what gets you inspired! Also, I am loving your box ideas that you have. Who knew how many things could be made from cardstock, a paper scorer, and some glue!

    Best wishes!!
    -Steph

  100. Congrats!

I definitely agree with what Mary said…I would love to read your thoughts on certain products and how they compare to similar products…we can read what the manufacturers say about the product but to actually have someone who uses them share with us…that would be so much better!

  122. How on earth can I pick something else for you to show??? You do such a great job with your tutorials on Splitcoast and the things you post here…I guess I would say I’d love to see more ideas for making small albums with chipboard or similar items that can be used to make mini-albums. And I love how you are posting weekly sketch challenges here…if only I actually had the time!! 🙂

  123. I love to see the sketch challenge cards you all make. I am still not sure I understand the directions of a sketch challenge. I would like it explained in detail. I enjoy your blog very much

I always say to myself “I would never think of that”, so thanks for sharing your creativity! You do a lot of coloring using your aqua painter. I would love to know exactly what technique you use with your aqua painter (ink refills, ink pads, etc.)

  231. Beate, thanks for sharing the goodies! You do such a wonderful job and your work is always so original. One thing that may be helpful is a ‘back to the basics’ tutorial that covers all the different types of coloring techniques used in stamping (i.e. blender pens, aqua brush, pastels, watercolor crayons, etc). It’s always helpful to hear how others use the same products!

If I could choose a tutorial, I would be interested in different techniques using the metallic pencils or tips on watercoloring with the various pencils, crayons, ink refills. Thanks for all your hard work in helping so many of us!

Whew! A lot of comments already. That’s because you’re a great teacher!
My suggestion is that you write about your creative process.
I’ve learned so much from these two:

  269. I love all of your ideas. You are such an inspiration since I’m pretty new to stamping. I’d like some ideas on different ways to create backgrounds for layers. I’ve tried the shaving cream technique and use a lot of patterned paper, but would like to try something different.

  270. Congrats on all your hits! Its going up faster than I have ever seen. Of course,”we” all know the reasons why; your blog truly is fresh and fun. Whatever you’re ready to teach, I’m anxious to absorb. thank you, Beate.

  274. Hallo Beate,

Danke!

  275. Congrats on your blog hits!! I would love more sketch challenges…I am always looking for a new layout!

  276. Wow, your stuff is so beautiful! Love your blog!

    Jennifer

  277. Hi, Beate,
Congrats on the hits and thanks for all the ideas and tutorials! Here are some ideas for future tutorials(all the stuff I have but don’t have good ideas on how to use them!):
-ways to use vellum (colored vellum too!)
    -ways to use double-sided dp
    -ways to use Spectrum pads
-and new folds are always fun to try out!
I probably could go on and on, but I’ll stop there…
    Thanks,
    Kim

  278. As a newer stamper, I try to soak it all up. Anything you put out there would please me!!!!

  279. HEllo, how about different techniques on ribbon on cards.

  280. Love your cards and tutorials. So nice to have someone teaching as well as posting talent!

  281. Wow! 250,000 hits! I am impressed, but not surprised. Your blog is the BEST! I get so much info and inspiration here. It’s just fantastic – I wouldn’t change a thing! I, too have some coasters and would like to see some ideas for using them to make books. Love your creativity!

    Congratulations!

  286. I just love your blog! I enjoy all your ideas. I’m thinking I’d like to see more non-card items. You’re so creative that I’m sure you’d come up with some wonderful projects that I’ve never even thought of!

  287. That is awesome blog candy! You always provide great inspiration! Crystal

  288. Wow – congrats on sooooo many hits. Your blog is great — always good cards and good ideas. I LOVE the tutorial today about the scallop edge — you know I just thought everyone was using a punch that I did not have — I am psyched that I can now do this too — or at least try! Also, I love your new weekend challenges — I don’t always get to them right away, but I find them motivating and fun. Please continue this! As far as what to add—- I have difficulty sometimes stamping on textured cardstock — if there are any tricks out there to get a clean image I would love the advice!

Thanks for offering the opportunity to win some great goodies!

I would love to know how you photograph your cards. What lighting, backdrop, etc. I know there has to be a better way than I’ve been doing it.

  303. You go girl! Congrats on reaching 250K! I would love to see a tutorial on jumbo clips. I love these SO much and want to give some as gifts. I have chipboard but don’t know how to cut them into cute shapes. Thanks Beate!

I would like to see a tutorial on watercolor crayons….I love mine…but could always use some extra tips on using them.

  305. Beate,
Congratulations on 250,000+ hits. I always forget about using versamark, maybe a tutorial on all the different ways to use it. What I would love to know is how you store your paper when you move? My hubby is a Pilot in the navy and we move alot. I have aquired too much stuff to bring along with me in my trunk. How do you prepare everything for the movers?

  306. I haven’t gotten through all the tutorials you’ve already written (and enjoyed very much)! I’m sure there’s one in there somewhere about using vellum — best inks, highlighting, overlaying, coloring, etc. I’d also like to see more cards using transperencies, especially since I inherited a box of them from a friend. I’m kind of new at all this, so have been blown away by all the talent I’m finding is out there to CASE. (I’m not so new that I didn’t pick up that acronym right away — ha!) Good luck on getting the next 250K.

  307. I would like some more examples of how to use some of these techniques, including in scrapbooking. I want to use more embossing in scrapbooking but not sure how! Thanks for your inspiration!

  308. Congrats on the numbers.. I was wondering as elementary as it sounds if you could show some watercoloring techniques.. I struggle getting the right amount of color in the right spots and such!! Thanks!

  309. Hey Beate! Love your blog! I would like to see a tutorial on Pearl Ex. I have so much of it but I feel like I don’t use it as much as I could. Thanks!

  310. You inspire us all. Congrats on the hits How about a tutorial on the cloisonne technique! It has always intrigued me.

  311. I just love your blog and have learned so much from it. If there is anything I would like to see, it is the smackin’ acetate technique. I’ve heard people talk about it and it sounds so neat but have never actually done it.

  312. Hi Beate!! You are so creative!! Everything I’ve learned I have learned from you already!! I still need to learn more though!! I think I might like to see more about how to incorporate chipboard into card making somehow…??? Thanks for the fun!! 😉

  313. Wow! 250,000 hits! That’s pretty cool! Honestly, anything you do is fine with me. You are one of my favorite stampers & always do something I like. How about some creative ways to use up all those little scraps of cardstock I just can’t bear to throw out? That would be cool.

  314. I would really like a coloring tutorial.

Congrats on your wonderful Blog!! You have been a inspiration to me since I joined your Yahoo Group like…forever!!

  315. Beate

You and your bogsite blow my mind. You have quite the following. I have to agree with some of the girls and say no matter what you post for a tutorial, we will be sure to learn lol. But that doesnt help you to come up with ideas. I read thru some of the responses and have to agree, I love the look of vellum and dont use it very often, but would like to. Also the different uses of luminere with pearl ex. Thanks for the great ideas and the awesome inspiration!!!
    Danita

  316. Congratulations!!!

    Erika

  322. Hi Beate, It’s no surprise to your dedicated blog followers that you’ve reached 250,000 so quickly. I always learn SOMETHING when I look over your site. I would also like to see an explanation on sponging on ink. I struggle getting the soft, even look that you’ve perfected. I also struggle with storage, & love peeking into stamp rooms, so maybe discuss ribbon storage one week, inks the next week, embellishments, etc, etc? Keep up your simply beautiful work!

  323. Oh my goodness! Congrats on the hits and look at how many comments! Please show us something using Pearl Ex. I have tried and tried and I can not for the life of me make this stuff work!
