All my girlfriends aren’t online right now. I have a stamp camp tomorrow and needed one more card. I needed something with a darker blue. Most of the other cards have green and saffron in it. Do you like it? Please let me know.

pick-a-petal-stem-saying-la.jpg

I had seen so many cute ladybugs made with the Pick a Petal set, I thought I give it a whirl. Since I already have one Joy card, two square cards and a normal size card, I thought I make a 3 1/4″” x 6 1/4″ card that fits in the smaller long envelopes Stampin’ Up! carries.

The card base is a 6 1/2″ x 6 1/4″ piece of Blue Bayou cardstock folded in half. On top of that is a 3″ x 6″ piece of white cardstock. I took a 1 1/2″ x 6″ piece of Rose Red Prints designer paper and scalloped the edges with the newly retired corner rounder (I am curious to see how the new smaller corner rounder will look as a scalloped edge). I tied some black grosgrain over that.

I stamped a saying from Stem Saying behind the ladybug.

The ladybug is made with two blue bayou polka dotted leaves from Pick a Petal and two 1″ circles. I paper pierced it’s antennas, to tie in the paper piercing on the top right.

So….would you like to make this at a stamp camp?

  8. I think it is very clever – love the idea of the petals as wings! “easy” to complete – yet looks very “deep”. I love those scallops edges too… be sure to post an image of the scallop with the new corner rounder – we are all anxious to see the difference. It’s a winner!

  9. I think I like the pick-a-petal better as a lady bug than a flower! Love it!!!!

I thought you were using the Papertrey set and was at first wondering how you were able to use it for a stamp camp. Light on, now I know. That trail is adorable too. I am so going to get these two sets now and try this!

  34. i would love to make this card.
it shows you a different way of using the stamps (wow.. i can make something else than a flower with that set) AND it shows you how to use punches when making cards.
for the longest time (while with my first demo) i had no clue how to do that. i do like tho ladybugs in red.

  35. It’s terrible. You should get rid of it right away. (you’ve got my address, right?)

  37. Beate, I think it is the worst card you have ever done – in fact, I think I should give you my address so you can send it to me right away and get rid of it *wink* LOVE IT!!! Love everything you make! You rock! *HUGS* Alex

    Linda

  44. Of course I would! Who wouldn’t???? But a suggestion….wouldn’t it be more cost efficient for you to make a 6 x 6 and fold it? You would get 4 cards to a sheet of Blue Bayou… And it will still fit in the long envelope. Have a great Stamp Camp!!

  45. Great way to use those petals and the colours work so well. You always inspire!
