Yesterday’s Limited supply challenge was hard! I really didn’t think I would participate. You had to use an embellishment, that is not store bought and not traditionally used as an embellishment.

I couldn’t think of a thing…Pathetic I know. I had to bring two packages to the post office and decided to walk there. I sit so much every day, it’s nice to get out and walk a bit. On my way I saw lots of pine needles on the ground. Those are HUGE in Florida!!! I picked some up on my way home, hoping I could incoorporate them in my card to save my challenge streak.

The card base is a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Close to Cocoa cardstock folded in half. I added more color by swiping the close to Cocoa ink pad directly over the card front continously, until I had the look I wanted.

Next is a 3 1/4″ x 4″ of Bordering Blue cardstock. I used the striped background strip from Happiness to stamp a plaid design in Bordering blue. Then I distressed the edges with my cutter kit and sponged them first in Bordering blue, then in Close to Cocoa.

The 3/4″ x 4″ piece of Always Artichoke was stamped with the Diamond background from Happiness, distressed and sponged.

I stamped the Argyle stamp from All in a Row over it in Close to Cocoa to make it look like Faux Stitching and added the Sentiment from Block Party in Close to Cocoa.

The main image is from Wildlife Reserve. I stamped it in Black Stazon on Natural Ivory cardstock and colored it in with Aqua painter and Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa, Always Artichoke and Bordering Blue. The piece measures 2″ x 3 1/4″. It was sponged first with Creamy Caramel, then with Close to Cocoa. I added a paper piercing order around it and distressed it’s edges. It was layered on a 1/4″ bigger, sponged and distressed piece of Close to Cocoa that was layered on a 1/4″ bigger, sponged and distressed piece of Always Artichoke cardstock.

For my embellishment, I cut some of my pine needles down and tied them together with another pine needle. I adhered them with a mini glue dot to the bottom left of the main image.

I didn’t use any punches, no hardware, no ribbon….again, a very limited card.

This is one of the most beautiful cards I’ve ever seen!
