I made this card for the Limited Supply challenge yesterday. But like a lot of times lately…I didn’t read that challenge careful enough. NO flowers and NO reds allowed. Oh well…I still like the card.

I knew I wanted to brayer/sponge my background and add the flower in black over it ever since I saw the stamp in the new Occasional mini catalog. Customers can start ordering out of it March first, but demonstrators get to preorder a month early.

I took some liberty with the weekend sketch for this card.

I started out with a 2 3/4″ x 3 1/4″ piece of white glossy cardstock.

I tore a piece of white scrap paper, masked off the bottom of my cardstock and sponged the rest with More Mustard.

Next I cut a half circle (traced my ever present diet coke can) out of a Post-It note, slid it under my scrap paper and sponged the rest of the cardstock with Purely Pomegranate.  I took the circle back off and blended the colors a bit by sponging Purely Pomegranate slightly over the half circle.

I took the bottom mask off and sponged Old Olive for the ground. The flower stamp from the set Essence of Love was stamped in Black Stazon. The image was layered on a 1/4″ bigger piece of Basic Black cardstock. I paper pierced the top two corners.

The card base is a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Purely Pomegranate cardstock folded in half.  The Bali Breeze Designer paper measures 2 1/4″ x 4″. I added three 1/2″ black circles on the left of the image. They were topped with 1/4″ Purely Pomegranate circles and a More Mustard brad.

The sentiment was stamped in Black Stazon to the bottom right.  I just had to add a double photo corner to the top right. The smaller one is punched from a piece of More Mustard cardstock and was sponged with Purely Pomegranate. I added three black brads on top….just because otherwise those photo corners are look so naked! LOL

  7. I think she meant outside of the candy apple red and such. I think that perfectly fits the rules. It really is pertty. I don’t think mine totally conformed to the rules either, but I still liked it, and I am sure my husband will too.
