Did I mention that I love our new in colors and the new stamp sets? I love them, love them, LOVE THEM.

I made this card last week Friday while my friends were over stamping and the Mamma Mia soundtrack was blasting! I seem to be the most creative lately when that CD is on. I can’t wait to buy that movie!!! I will watch it all the time. Pierce Brosnan was so sweet in it. He can’t sing, but boy…it’s so romantic that he does it anyway. …sigh…

The card base is a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock folded in half.

The next layer is a sponged 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Brocade Blue cardstock.

I stamped it with Tres Chic background and paper pierced the edges.

A 1 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock was adhered in the middle of the Brocade cardstock, the bottom edge was paper pierced and Kiwi Striped Grosgrain ribbon was tied around it.

For the center piece I stamped a 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ piece of Kiwi Kiss with Friends by Definition background and sponged the edges with Kiwi Kiss. Then I stamped the Upsy Daisy stamp with Chocolate Chip Craft ink. I let the image dry (translation: I hit it hard with the heat gun. I don’t have patience to wait! LOL) and added highlights with my white gel pen.

The stamped layer was adhered to a 1/8″ bigger piece of Whisper White cardstock and a Chocolate Chip scallop rectangle square that was cut with the rectangle Nestabilities templates. The layers were attached to the card base with .

The sentiment was stamped with Chocolate Chip classic ink on Whisper White cardstock. Next the flowers were inked with Kiwi Kiss, stamped on scrap paper once, then stamped over the sentiment. It was punched out with the large oval punch, layered on Chocolate Chip cardstock and cut out to by hand to create the bigger oval layer.

This is actually my second try on this card. My first version was with Sage Shadow.

I really liked this version too.

But as I am getting ready for my first stamp camp after my summer break, I needed a card with ribbon that is not retired.

The ribbon on this card is from a retired Ribbon Originals pack.

Have a wonderful day! Hugs and smiles

  13. These both rock! I despise Sage Shadow, but you actually made it look good here. 😀

  14. Your card is beautiful. As to Pierce Brosnan — it was so hard to watch James Bond singing so earnestly on the top of a cliff in Greece. I kept thinking — this is James Bond! The music is great — then and now.

  15. Awesome card Beate! I just love your little details, my fave being: the flowers stamped off and then onto the sentiment oval, and oh my, the white highlighting of the flowers adds sooo much! Love this! 🙂

  16. These are both beautiful Beate!! 😉

  17. I love all the depth that the words give behind the daises… The Blue and Green is my favorite… Weird because the Pacific Point is not my fav….

  36. Stunning! Love the colors and your use of the white gel pen!

  37. Beautiful card .. Your colors look great together!!

  38. beautiful cards…i am starting to like those colors (didnt think i would but now I am changing my mind!)

  39. I love your card…”NATCH” but I was so happy to read your Pierce Brosnan singing comment! I was like, “am I the only one who noticed that?!” You know it’s a good movie when it lives up to the Broadway show…I loved them both!

  40. Love, the card…but, felt the need to comment on your Mamma Mia review. Cracked me up since that’s how I describe the movie. Meryl Streep was excellent-I didn’t think she can move like that. Pierce cannot sing, but no one seems to mind. Go, James Bond!

  41. Beautiful card!! I loved it so much that I cased it for my stamp club on Monday (I just didn’t have time to post it earlier). I changed up the colors to what I have enough supplies on hand for the club gals and brayered the image layer instead of using solid card stock. I LOVE this card!! Thank you so much, once again, for the inspiration!!
