For my tutorial on Saturday, I made two samples to the variations I had listed.

The first variation box is made with Kraft cardstock on the bottom.

Reverse Damask was stamped on it with Whisper White craft inkand Clear Cardstock was used for the top.

The clear cardstock Flourishes sells is very thick. It’s great for projects like that IF you have a great scoring tool. The Scor-It with it’s metal bar, was perfect to add the scores needed.

Again…I was wishing my big luscious satin ribbon order was already in. Instead I used some Organdy ribbon I had picked up at Michaels.

The second variation is a Pizza box big enough to hold regular sized cards.

I started  with a 7 1/2″ x 11 3/4″ piece of  Bravo Burgundy cardstock. I stamped Damask in Memento Tuxedo Black ink (I think it’s my new favorite black ink! It’s really black and dries fast!) all over.

The cardstock was scored at 3/4″ and 6 3/4″ on the 7 1/2″ side and  at 3/4″, 5 1/2, 6 1/4″ and 11″ on the long side.

Again…can you imagine the box with wonderful black satin ribbon? Instead I used 5/8″ wide Burgundy grosgrain topped with retired black organdy ribbon from Stampin’ Up!

The flower silhouette from Summer Botanicals was stamped in Tuxedo Black on Ivory Shimmery Cardstock. It was cut out with Oval Nestabilities and the edges were sponged with Creamy Caramel. It was layered on a slightly bigger Black scallop oval that was cut with Oval Nestabilities as well. The edges were paper pierced and the image was attached to the box with dimensionals.

I stamped part of a sentiment from Many Sentiments with Tuxedo black on Ivory Shimmery cardstock, punched it out with the window word punch and sponged the edges with Creamy Caramel. I layered it on a small oval black punchout and placed that halfway over the lower right of the image.

  17. Thank you for all your tutorials and inspirations. I have made several A2 Boxes this morning. ALl with card stock that is at least 180 -200 gsm but I find the boxes a little flimsy. What wis the card weight that you would typically use?
