I am done reading the Twilight series. I should say I finished reading the fourth book. I am seriously tempted to just read them again, slower this time. I am so going to the movie next week. I hope that if I wait until Tuesday, the theater won’t be too full anymore.

So now that the reading is done, I could concentrate on making a sample for yesterday’s challenge.

My card base is a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Basic Black cardstock folded in half.

The first layer is a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Juntos Designer paper. You can find it in the Celebrando Creatividad flyer.  The two left corners were punched with the ticket corner punch and the edges of the paper was distressed with a sanding block.

The next layers is a 3″ x 3 3/4″ piece of designer paper, again from the Juntos paper pack. Three edges were paper pierced and the edges were sanded. Three 1/4″ black circles were taped to the lower left side and were topped with silver brads.

The 2 1/2″ x 3 3/8″ piece of Shimmery White cardstock was firs stamped with the background script from Flores Suaves in More Mustard. The edges were sponged first with More Mustard, then with Really Rust. The tulip from the same set was stamped over the cardstock with Really Rust. It was layered on a 1/4″ bigger piece of Basic Black cardstock. The bottom edge was punched with the Scallop Edge Punch.

The edges of the Shimmery White cardstock were paper pierced and Polka Dotted May Arts ribbon was tied around the lower half of both layers. On the top right I added a double photo corner. The bigger corner is a sponged Really Rust cardstock corner, the smaller one was punched out of Basic Black cardstock. On top I layered three 1/4″ circles punched out from Juntos Designer Paper. They were topped off with black brads.

I stamped the Butterfly from Flores Suaves (if you are like me and you like stamps other then cutesy, this set is a MUST! You can find it just like the designer paper in our spanish flyer) in Black Stazon on Shimmery White cardstock. I colored it with Aqua Painter and classic inks (Always Artichoke and Chocolate chip). It was cut out and adhered with dimensionals. Last I spread Crystal Effect over the entire butterfly, sprinkled some Dazzling Diamond Glitter over it and added just a little more Crystal Effect over the butterfly body.

The sentiment is from Lovely Labels (you can’t find it in the current catalog, but you can still order it.). It is stamped in Really Rust on a Shimmery White cardstock. The sentiment was punched out with the 1 1/4″ circle punch and layered first on a 1 3/8″ Basic Black circle, then on a silver metal rimmed tag.

The inside of the card is a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Shimmery White cardstock.  First I stamped the butterfly in Black Stazon to the lower right part.

Then I covered up the upper part with a ripped mask and the buttefly with a mask as well. The bottom part was then first stamped with the script from Flores Suaves in More Mustard. It was sponged first with More Mustard, then with Really Rust. The tulip was stamped all over with Really Rust. Last the butterfly was colored again with Aqua Painter with Classic inks (Always Artichoke and Chocolate Chip).

  2. Beate:
Green is my fav. color and your card is gorgeous!

  3. Okay Okay Okay!!! You have convinced me to take the first book to Santa Fe for T-giving. Yes, I’m sure I’m the only person who hasn’t read them! But you are the one that put me over the top!

This card is STUNNING. One of my faves you’ve ever done. TFS.

  4. Beate you’re killin’ me! To say this card is gorgeous does not do it any justice. I will be working on my cased version of this technique of the inside. A real winner, Beate. Thanks as always.

  5. Gorgeous!! Wow! The colors are so beautiful, love how it’s put together, and I love the inside too!

I read the books twice except Breaking Dawn, need to read that one again…and I just went to see the movie today. *sigh*

  6. How GORGEOUS Beate!! WOW, WOW, WOW!!! LOVE every bit of this beauty!

  7. simply stunning Beate … I love this collage type look. Not too busy and just enough. Love the colours you’ve used too. Awesome

  8. Oh! I loved the twilight series, I read them on Audiobook last year while knitting, then when the 4th book came out this summer I read it, and then bought paper copies of the other three and am re-reading them (I don’t normally read books twice…but I love them). Have you read Midnight Dawn, it’s available on Stephanie Meyers website as a free download. It’s only a partial draft, as someone leaked it online and so she stopped writing but posted a draft for people to get legally. It’s Twilight from Edwards perspective…I really hope she writes more 🙂
    Hope you enjoy the movie

  9. SUPER pretty card! I love the paper and the colors of the card are terrific together! Another great one!

  10. This is beautiful, Beate! I LOVE it! I read all of the books as well. I went with a friend to the show at Midnight Thursday…it was lots of fun but soooo loud! …loud with lots of giggling teenages! It made it a bit difficult to keep up! You’ll have to let me know if it’s any better if you wait. Hope you are doing well! 🙂 Hugs!

  11. Beate, this is so beautiful! I just love the colors you chose!

  12. I just love the Twilight series, although I haven’t read the 4th book yet!! Your card is stunning….I love the colors!

  13. Love your fluttering artichoke butterfly! Awesome card Beate! Hugs, Deb

  14. This is GORGEOUS Beate! Love it! Hope we get these things on the Land Down Under sooner rather than later!

  15. Just last night I noticed my DIL had the first 3 of the Twilight books and I asked to borrow the first one. Needless to say, I forgot to take it. Oh well. It gives her an excuse to drop by. Fortunately, they only live 20 mins. away.

This card is beautiful. It’s got somewhat of a vintage feel… AND I love the insides of your cards. My DH ALWAYS tells me “Anyone can just stamp something on the inside, but only creative people decorate the inside too!” I guess he’s right. You are very creative!

  17. You’re so good at colors! This card is another beauty. I finally bought French Script and Très Chic all because of you…LOL! I’ll be back to post my WSC card when there’s a little more light to photograph it…the kiddies woke up a wee bit early this a.m. so it’s still dark out…

  18. Breath-taking! I love the way you did the inside without actually layering on more cardstock! My cards always cost double to mail these days; so I’m gonna have to try that little trick. 🙂

  19. I read all the Twilight books and went to see the movie Friday. I liked it but movies are never as good as the books. They don’t make it look like the picture in my head.

  42. Oh, now look see what you’ve done! Since I don’t have any Spanish speaking customers, I never looked at that brochure and didn’t realize that there were any stamp sets that were completely different from the main catalog. Now I NEED this set. I love it! And you card is just phenomenal! Soooo gorgeous!
