I had been enjoying our last few weeks in Florida. We drove up to Ohio last week Thursday and Friday. Saturday the movers brought our belongings and we have been trying to make the house our new home, finding new spots for everything.

Last night we got hooked up with cable and I finally got a look at the retirement list and preorder items. My order is placed (everything but the robots). I can’t wait to check out the new catalog.

I posted the retiring sets that I have in my for sale page if you want to take a look. Reserve over $75 of the soon to be retired sets and you can pick one of the older retired sets (or older SAB sets) for free as my thank you gift.

Hopefully life will settle down soon and I will get back into my stamping groove again. My stamp room is now combined with our dining room. The house we moved in was built in the mid30s. Crazy! Small closets, tiny bathrooms, far away detached one car garage…..but one the plus side it has a basement for storage and a screened back porch.

Have a wonderful weekend. Hugs and smiles

Beate

  1. That’s quite a change moving from FL to OH. We’re right across the eastern border in Pennsylvania. Hope you get settled in comfortably.

  2. Welcome to the neighborhood!

  3. Best wishes Beate! I hope you all get settled into your new life quickly and without grief.

  6. I was wondering if you made the trip yet. Hope things settle down soon and you can have time to create! I miss you! 🙂 HUGS!

  7. Dear Beate, So hope this is a good time for you all – hugh adjustment – on top of many previous ones. May you have stamping time that makes you feel at home!
    Bless you,

  8. Everything BUT the ROBOTS??! LOL! That one is my fave! I guess I’ll just have to make some super-cute things with it and MAKE you want it! I hope the move hasn’t been too rough on you and your family. Chin up, buttercup.

    Take care,
    Brandi

  9. Been wondering where you were! We’ve missed you. Alas, I am moving also in about 2 weeks to Rhode Island and then vacationing for the summer in Iowa. So, no stamping or scrapping until August…bummer!
(I wasn’t a big fan of the robot set either!)

    hugs!

  10. Welcome to Ohio! Let me know when you want to see a Buckeye Game. I’m sure I can hook you up.

  11. Welcome to Ohio. I hope you get settled here and can get back into the stamping groove.

  12. I must have known you were in the area because I have been thinking about you a lot! Welcome to Dayton/WPAFB!

  13. Hey there! So great to see you! Hope you settle in soon and find yourself some stamp time. How are the kids settling in? Are they liking it so far? Making new friends? Have a fabulous weekend!

  14. Best of luck in your new home. May the adjustment be easy for you and your family, the neighbors be just as great as those you left behind, the house feel like a home in record time, and this dreary Spring clear up so you can enjoy your first summer in Ohio.

  15. Oh there you are…thanks for letting us know what you’re up to. I was wondering what had happened. I hope you do find some stamping time again soon….good luck with the settling in.

  16. Florida’s loss is Ohio’s gain.
Sending *quick settling in vibes* your way!

  17. Welcome to the Midwest! It will be quite a change especially starting in November through the winter months. However I must say I really enjoy having all 4 seasons. Can’t wait to see you stamping and sharing again. You are an inspiration to many of us.

  18. Welcome to Ohio! I hope this weather and the storms clear up for you soon! Our first house was built in the 30’s and I grew up in one built in the 40’s- so I know exactly what you are talking about regards small closets and bathrooms! Wish I still had a basement!

We vacation in Destin and have a cousin in Niceville – I love that area, but – – – is getting way too crowded for me now! I also love the changes in seasons here. I’m sure you will find some local swimming spots – just not the gulf! Several outlet malls nearby for you – Jeffersonville and one just opening down I-75 towards Cincinnati and a new IKEA down that way, too!

Nice areas up near WPAF base – you’ll love it here!

  19. Hope you are settling in nicely. We’ll all still be here when you’re ready to create! 😉

  20. Welcome back! You have been missed…but take your time and settle in. We will wait patiently for all your wonderful creations.

  21. Welcome back! That will be quite a change for you going from Florida to Ohio – hope you settle in well!!

  22. Well, I guess they can’t call it Niceville if you’re not there anymore!!

Hope you get to go to Marco Paper soon!

  23. Hey Beate, Great to hear that you and the family are well, although I am sure you are all going through BIG adjustments. All the best with that, and when time allows, we look forward to seeing your creations again! We have MISSED you imensely! Take care gorgeous, Love Keesh x

  24. YEAH! Beate’s in OHIO! Beate’s in Ohio!

  25. Waving from Gulf Breeze, Florida!!
Best of luck in a new stop in your life journey. Guess we will have to take another Copic class so we can visit!
Have fun up there and when winter comes and you get COLD, just come on down and stay with me for a while!!

  26. Welcome to the Midwest & Ohio! I’m in NE Ohio, but hopefully you’ll enjoy the changing seasons even if you don’t get as much snow down there in Dayton. It makes summer all the more enjoyable when it finally arrives! I have family who have moved to FL and know that it is so different – they miss their basements, too! Here’s hoping your family settles in well and learns to enjoy all that the heartland has to offer – good luck in this new adventure!

  27. Welcome to Ohio. Looks like we’ll have to take a road trip and met up. If i’m reading correctly, you are in Dayton which is only 40 mins away from me! Too cool to think the ‘great’ Beate lives so close to me now! 🙂

  28. Have fun in Ohio, hope you will feel like home very soon, find new friends, more scrap or cards shops 🙂 🙂

    enjoy

    MJ

  29. Beate, all I can say is that you must be a military wife!!! lol I think you must be a very “go with the flow” kinda of family. I hope your new house works out well, and you enjoy Ohio. I’m sure there will be adjustments, but that’s what most of life is, right? hope the kiddos get settled in with their new schools this fall, and all goes well with them.

    Many Blessings!

  30. Beate –

Welcome to the midwest! I’m in neighboring Indiana (NW Indiana, along Lake Michigan)! I have a lot of family in Fort Walton and while I think you’ll grow to like the 4 seasons of the midwest, it defintely does not feature the gorgeous weather Flordia did! I’ve missed your blog and look forward to your awesome creativity once you and your family get settled.

  31. I hope you’re getting all settled in nicely, Beate! Miss ya, girl!! Hugs!!

  32. Hope all is going well with the move and settling in! I was born and raised in the Cleveland area and have some great memories of special places up there. It is quite an adjustment from Florida, but I’m sure you will brighten up everything around you!

Just think, you guys are closer to Cedar Point – an absolute must!!
    Hugs!
    Maria 🙂

  33. Hey Beate, glad to hear from you. Sounds like your closets are like mine…small. But I even had a room that didn’t have a closet – so I had one built – maybe your husband can get time to build extra closets for you. Also, my coast closet was in the back of the house (end of hallway) – so I just went to Lowe’s and had them cut me some braces and shelves and we got those put (leaving the shelves unnailed so anyone else could take them down if they needed the coat closet. I like having it for a linen closet though.

Hope you enjoy your new home – glad to see you’re there. But your message was a little confused. Sounds like you’re still in FL and enjoying your last days/minutes there. WOW, it’s pouring rain here and I must get to the other side of town to feed a friend’s kitty – maybe I’ll wait a little while and see if the rain lets up. Take care of you and family, and it will be great hearing from you on your blog, again soon. Have a safe trip home.

  34. Hi Beate…Sure have missed you and your creations!! Hope you get settled quickly….Hugs!!

  35. I hope you and your family are adjusting. I know this must be a bit difficult for you to move up to Ohio. HUGS!!!!

PS…..when I start seeing some stamping, I may have to make that 7 hour road trip from PA to you 🙂

  36. Welcome to your new home, Beate! I hope you enjoy your new neighborhood.

It’s great to hear from you again – you’ve been missed!

    Have fun settling in 🙂

  37. welcome to Ohio! enjoy settling in!

  38. Wow, Beate! I have really lost track…welcome to Ohio! I’m actually an original Buckeye but no longer live there, however I am visiting back home in SE OH for a few weeks. Guess I’ll have to honk and wave as I drive thru Dayton enroute home from now on…lol! Actually, we are still in the SAFB area so I come across 64 to Louisville then head north to Cincinnati before heading east on Rte 32 so I don’t usually go anywhere near Dayton but I sure would if I could say hi to you! Family relocation stinks but knowing you it won’t be long until you feel at home. Maybe the kids will enjoy the occasional snow??? lol! I’d rather be at the beach, myself! Jan

  39. WOW Beate ya know it gets cold in Ohio in the winter right?? 😉 Guess I forgot you were moving to Ohio and hope you get settled in soon and back to stamping.

  40. Hi Beate, You’ve really been missed, but I have to admit I’m happy you are back in the Midwest. I live near Indianapolis, so hope to meet you while you’re here…before your next reassignment! My family, apparently like yours, has lived all over the country. Every new location was always our new favorite place…I’m sure your family probably has the same attitude.

    Big hugs,
    Nancy in Noblesville

  41. Beate,

I just wanted to send a HUGE thank-you to you for all of your beautiful creations and easy-to-follow tutorials. You are an inpiration!

  42. I have SO missed your fabulous ideas. I hope by now you are settled in Ohio. I know you will miss the quick access to your beloved beach. I hope SOON to be seeing your ideas again. Love you so much.

    Wilma

  43. Hi Beate,
When you get settled e-mail me at [email protected] and we can get together for lunch. I for one am excited you are moving to Ohio.

    Michelle Zindorf

  44. Ooh!! I am going to have fun saying “Beate’s from Ohio too”!! Welcome- hope you are enjoying your adventure and don’t mind Ohio too much. I’m in NW Ohio- probably about 90 miles away. If you need anything feel free to call on all your Ohio pals!

  45. Ohhhh!! I can’t believe–Beate is in the state!!! I just have to tell you-YOU helped to get me back into my cards–a few years back-I first saw one of your beautiful cards using the nesties-and I was hooked!!! And now to have you here in Ohio-how cool is that–sure can’t compare to Florida-or the other sunny states..sorry! But we do have some pretty great stores here-also have Stampaway convention down here in Cinti-!!! GREAT time!! Hope you can make it!!!
