I am sorry I have been so quiet. First winter hit us hard, then my oldest had exam and last week I was at the CHA. I hope to post again regular starting today! CHA was so much fun! It was great to meet up with so many fellow stampers. I had a wonderful time!

Yesterday’s tutorial on SCS was for a Treat Bag Cover.

unityowltreatbagcoverbeate.jpg

I started with a 3 3/8″ x 10 1/2″ piece of Riding Hood Red cardstock. It was stamped with Unity’s Giving it all Meaning background in Fired Brick Distress ink. The edge of the flap was punched with SU’s Eyelet Border Punch and the edges were sponged with Fired Brick.

I inked up the branch from the Believe in Fairytales Store kit with Vintage Photo Distress ink, the hearts with Fired brick and stamped the image on a 2 7/8″ x 3 1/2″ piece of Kraft cardstock. The owls are from the same stamp set and were stamped in Walnut Stain distress ink. The edges were spongedwith Vintage photo ink. The Kraft cardstock was adhered to a 1/4″ bigger piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock. The edges of that had been sponged with Walnut Stain.

To finish the image off I sewed around the edges with a sewing machine (without thread) and added Stardust Stickles over the hearts.

  1. Beate, Good to hear things are busy and going well. Was a little worried the blogging thing had run it’s course with you. Very happy I was WRONG! Now I just have to get on a schedule of blogging again. Looking forward to viewing your creativity! Sending my best!

  2. Welcome back, Beate! I’ve missed you, but I understand how northern winters can be. (I hibernate…lol).

  4. Oh Beate! You just saved me for valenties day!! My DD told me this morning that she wanted me to make her whole class acetate boxes!! That would be 15 of them plus ones for her teachers. I am sure as soon as I show her these she will change her mind and want me to do these instead which would be sooo much easier! (She is six and one of her favorite things to do is watch your tutorials!) 🙂

It was just sooo nice meeting you at CHA this weekend! I had such a blast! 🙂

  5. Hi, Beate! I sure missed you and look forward to checking out your blog and admiring all your creativity! I am sure the weather has hit you hard – not only the cold and snow, but it has been so dreary here lately – February can still be brutal, but then we will be on the “uphill” swing and spring will be upon us! Glad you got to get out of our weather for a while. Looking forward to making one of these bags.
