Eva Doblias is hosting a Blog Linking party today. Create any project with a butterfly and link it back to her blog! How fun is that.

I created my card yesterday morning before heading to my class at Simply Scrapbooks. I think I might have fiddled with the card if I had a bit more time. Maybe some ribbon, maybe some pears….but I almost was late as it was finishing the card.  I had seen this purse on the Fossil website, the site for yesterday’s inspiration challenge, and created the background based on the purse. The layout is from a Sketch Challenge Iwona is hosting.

For the background I cut different pieces from Echo Park’s Springtime paper with Classic Oval and Circle Nestabilities, adhered them first to a 2 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock. That was adhered to a piece of Canyon Brown cardstock that had been cut and embossed with Long Scallop rectangles before the edges of the Echo Park paper pieces were stitched for decoration.

A 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Springtime paper was stitched to a  3/16″ bigger piece of Canyon brown cardstock before it was adhered to the card base, a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Solar White cardstock, folded in half.

One of the butterfly from My Favorite Things Inspired By Butterflies set was stamped in Walnut Stain Distress ink and then embossed with Walnut Stain Distress Embossing powder. The butterfly was cut out and adhered with dimensionals to the stitched panel.

The sentiment is also from MFT’s Inspired by Butterflies set. It was stamped in Walnut Stain ink on a 5/8″ wide strip of white cardstock. The strip was bend into a banner and adhered with dimensionals and Scor-Tape. A mini paper clip as added as embellishment.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have time to play! Who doesn’t love butterflies! Have  a wonderful Sunday!
Hugs and smiles
