It’s safe to say our brand new set Italian Garden inspired this noon-time challenge, just look at the lush colors of tomatoes, olives and olive oil and you’ll see what colors you need to include in your card or creation – red, green and a neutral (white, tan or ivory).

HOW TO PLAY:

  • Simply use these colors on your card or creation, and you’re in the running! When you are done creating, simply link up here on the Flourishes blog!
  • Entries need to be in by Friday, August 12th by 5 PM EST
  • Please DO NOT combine challenges, while we love challenge chasers, we want to give those that follow the rules a chance at a prize valued at more than $60
  • If you upload to SCS, please use the keyword FLLCAUG11B

For my sample I used the sketch from last weeks sketch challenge on SCS. I started out with a 2″ x 5 1/8″ piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock. The big Tomato image was stamped several times in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on the strip and colored with Copic Markers (Tomato: YR15, R24, R27, R39 Leaves: YG11, YG13, YG17 Background: YR30, 1/5th YR31, YR31).

A strip of black cardstock were cut and embossed with one of the Parisian Accent dies. The strip was adhered to the left hand side of the stamped strip. Another small strip of black cardstock was adhered to right hand side of the strip. A borderr was sewn around the edges of the strip.

A 3 3/4″ x 5 1/8″ piece of Cosmo Cricket Odds & Ends paper was stitched to a 1/8″ bigger piece of black cardstock. The strip was adhered to the layers and a hole was punched to the lower right next to the strip.  Black silk ribbon was tied around the layers and topped with a Recollection pearl brad. A pearl swirl from WAnt2Scrap was cut apart and adhered to the lower left and upper right of the strip.

A piece of Neenah Solar White was cut and embossed with another piece of Parisian Accent die. The sentiment was stamped in it’s center with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. The embossed center was colored with Copic Marker (YR30, 1/5th YR 31). The sentiment panel was adhered next to the bow and topped with two Le creme Pearls.

Two 4 1/4″ long strips of white cardstock were cut and embossed with the border die from Parisian Acents. One of the strips  was adhered under the card front layers, the other for a small matching strip for the inside of the card. Both panels were adhered to the card base, a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Solar White cardstock folded in half.
