Did you read that Spellbinders new Majestic Elements one a spot on the CHA Hot 20 list? I have to tell you that I LOVE the Resplendent Rectangles from that line. They make beautiful card bases as well as layers.

The sentiment and frame is from JustRite Stampers new French Frill stamp set, designed by Samantha Walker. The images fit perfectly to Samantha’s die set by the same name. The frame was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored with Copic Markers (Y11, Y13, Y17, YG03, YG17, B0000, B000).

The background is also a JustRite set called Elegant Fronds Background. It was stamped in Cantaloupe Memento ink and sponged with the same color.

I hope you have time to check out the entire card at the Spellbinders Blog.  Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day.

Hi everyone! I am excited to be able to show you a new die coming out soon.  I LOVE the new Card Creators dies that Spellbinders™ is launching! They are perfect for creating wonderful shaped cards. Today I get to show you the Polka Dot Card Creators die. I used the largest one to create the base for this card.

Supply List:

  • Spellbinders™ Grand Calibur machine
  • S5-133 Card Creators A2 Polka Dots (MSRP $29.99)
  • S5-131 Card Creators A2 Matting Basics A (MSRP $29.99)
  • S5-132 Card Creators A2 Matting Basics B (MSRP $29.99)
  • Flourishes Gerber Daisies
  • Want2Scrap Silver Sleek Rhinestones Strip

I started by cutting and embossing a piece of white cardstock with the largest Polka Dot die. Because the die is so intricate, I placed a piece of wax paper over the die before placing the cardstock over it. It helps getting the die cut out of the die after it is cut and embossed.

Another piece of white cardstock with the fourth largest of the Basic A dies and a Kraft cardstock with the third largest Basic B die.

The card base and the Kraft piece of cardstock were taken out the die; I left the white rectangle in the die.

The image was stamped to the white card piece with the die still over it. The image was colored with Copic Markers (Flowers: Y11, Y13, Y15, W3    Flower Center: E42, E43, E44, E47    Leaves: YG61, YG63, YG67).

The image was masked, and then the edges were sponged. The image was first adhered to the Kraft layer, then to the card base.  A sentiment from the same stamp set was stamped on the upper right side and the word friend was underlined with rhinestones from a Sleek Silver Rhinestones Strip from Want2Scrap.

A piece of white cardstock was folded in half to create the card base. Again a piece of wax paper was placed over the die before the cardstock was added. When cutting card bases with dies, make sure you do NOT cut the folded part. Place it so that it lies inside the die.

I added Scor-Tape to the inside of the card base and liquid glue on the outer parts. Then the pieces were adhered to finish the card.

These dies not only look good as a card base, but also as layers on cards. I created another card sample to show the smaller dies off.  I used the longer and thin die to create covers for Hershey nuggets. Those are a great way to dress up chocolate quickly .

It’s my turn to post a Savvy Saturday Video for the Spellbinders blog. It features how to create a card with one of Spellbinders Cut-Fold-Tuck dies. You can find a picture of the entire card and the video in this blog post.

Have a great weekend!

I created this card for the current JustRite Stampers challenge, which is a color challenge. We are to use a light yellow, pink and peach for our creation. I knew right away I wanted to use a flower from the older original sets and paper from  My Mind’s Eye Miss Caroline Howdy Doody paper pack.

I stamped an image from Plant a little Love in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock, cut part of it out and colored it with Copic Markers (RV000, RV10, RV21, RV23, YR000, YR00, YR12, YR15, G40, G43, G46). A piece of Howdy Doody Paper was cut with a Classic Oval Nestabilities die, the edges were sanded and a sentiment from the new Spring Rose Medallion was stamped with Tuxedo Black Ink in the center of it. The edges of the oval were stitched before it was layered first on a white piece of cardstock, cut and embossed with a Floral Oval Nestabilities die, then a piece of Kraft cardstock, cut and embossed with one of the Lattice Motif dies.

The edges of a  1 3/4″ x 4 1/8″ strip of Howdy Doody paper were sanded before the strip was adhered to a 4 1/8″ square of white cardstock that had been embossed with the Flower Fun M-Bossabilities folder. The edges were stitched before May Arts Ribbon was tied around the horizontal strip. A button was tied on with embroidery thread and the layers were adhered to a card base, Kraft cardstock cut and embossed with a  Grand Scallop Square Nestabilities die.

The image layers were adhered with dimensional adhesive and parts of a Finesse Rhinestone swirl were used to finish off the card.

You should participate in the current JustRite Stampers challenge. You could win Copic Markers!!!

I created this card a couple of weeks ago. I usually don’t make Sympathy cards so I didn’t have one when I needed it (unfortunately). Thank goodness I have this GORGEOUS set from JustRite Stampers called with With Sympathy.

I stamped the frame in  Rich Cocoa Memento Ink on a piece of My Mind’s Eye Be Amazing patterned paper. The frame was cut and embossed with the second largest of the Small Classic Oval Nestabilities die as well as the largest Nested Oval Medallion die and the edges were sanded.

The frame layers were adhered to a piece of white cardstock, cut and embossed with the largest Floral Oval Nestabilities die. A sentiment from With Sympathy was stamped in Rich Cocoa Ink on another piece of Be Amazing Paper, which was cut and embossed with the next smaller classic oval die. The edges were sanded and the oval was taped behind the frame opening.

The Rose from With Sympathy was stamped in Rich Cocoa Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock. It was colored with  Copic Markers (Y00, Y11, Y13, W2, G000, G00, G02), cut out and adhered to the lower left of the frame.

A strip of Be Amazing paper was adhered to a bigger piece of the same paper pack. The paper was cut and embossed with a Grand Rectangle Nestabilities die. The edges were sanded and stitched before May Arts ribbon was tied around the horizontal strip. The bow was topped with a button, tied on with embroidery thread before the layers were adhered to the card base, Kraft cardstock cut and embossed with a Grand Scallop Rectangle die.

Part of a  Fancy That! Border Bling was adhered to the upper right hand side to finish off card. Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day.
