Edna’s Hope You Can Cling to challenge is to create a card with five words on it. I pulled out quite a few sets before I settled on the words and dies for my entry. I wanted to use different fonts for my adjective, so I used three different sets.

I started by cutting you and are out of Neenah Solar White cardstock with MFT’s High Rise Alpha Lowercase dies. I stamped a word from each First Class Friend, Complimentary Greetings and Well Worn My Favorite Things stamp sets in Jet Black Archival ink and cut them out.

The card base is a 3 1/2″ x 11″ piece of Kraft cardstock, folded in half. The bottom corners were rounded. A 2 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ wide strip of My Mind’s Eye The Sweetest Thing Tangerine paper was to the center of the card front. A strip of white paper was cut with the Squiggle Border and adhered to the right hand side of the paper strip. The words were adhered in it’s center.

Two small hearts were cut out of black and white cardstock with a die from the Notched Tag stamp and die set. Another heart was cut out of Tangerine paper with the smallest of the Hearts A Plenty Die-namic die. An arrow was cut out of black cardstock with one of the Lead the Way dies. They were used to dress up the card. Tiny black rhinestones from a Baby Bling rhinestone pack finish off the card.

I created this card for a color and sketch challenge on Splitcoast. I also wanted to try out the Eggshell Mosaic Background that was published  a few weeks back.

My heart started as a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock, cut with a Classic Heart Nestabilities die. I adhered egg shells with Multi Medium Matte Glue.  Once the glue dried, I sprayed the shells with Perfect Pearls Glimmer Mist and added Alcohol Inks (Butterscotch, Sunset Orange, Wild Plum and Pool). More Perfect Pearls was sprayed and then the heart was set aside. Once it dried, another layer of Multi Medium glue was added, this time the glossy kind.

The card base is a 3 1/2″ x 11″ piece of Solar White cardstock, folded in half. The bottom corners were rounded. Marigold Tattered Angels Mist was sprayed in the center of the card front. Next a background script from My Favorite Things First Class Friend was stamped in Dandelion Memento Ink.

One of the little circle images was stamped in Jet Black Archival ink on white cardstock and punched out with a 3/4″ circle punch.  The wavy part of the post mark was stamped on the left side of the card. The heart was adhered to the right hand side , the circle sentiment placed so hangs slightly off the left of the card, right over the postmark wave.

First class was stamped in Jet Black on white cardstock and cut out. Friend is part of a sentiment and was stamped to the left side. The First class was adhered slightly over it. A paper pierced row on the right next to the heart finish off the card.

Here is a card I made for a Clean and Simple Challenge. It was a color challenge (Aqua, Coral, Yellow and White). I had recently gotten MFT’s Retro Square Die-namics border die and thought it would be perfect for a clean and simple card. I cut one strip out of Berrylicious cardstock, one out of Cameo Coral (Stampin’ Up!) cardstock.

The strips were adhered to the left side of the card base, a 4″ x 11″ piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock, folded in half. The bottom corners were rounded….just because I LOVE to do that.

Three daisies were cut with MFT’s Upsy Daisy Die-namic dies out of Solar White cardstock for the petals, and yellow Bazzill paper for the flower centers. The flowers were adhered over the retro strips. Three Rhinestones from the Sleek Strips Silver Rhinestones were added to the borders, were the two strips overlap.

A sentiment from MFT’s My Favorite Sentiments was stamped in Jet Black Archival ink to the lower right corner. Part of a Finesse Rhinestone swirl next to the biggest Daisy finish off the card.

Here is another super quick CAS card I created for an inspiration challenge on Splitcoaststampers. For this card I used the Empirical Style Pennants as inspiration piece.  The card base was cut and embossed with the largest Rounded Banner Stax out of Neenah Solar White cardstock.

A cage was cut out of black cardstock with a die from the Contemporary Cage stamp and die set. it was adhered with foam adhesive squares a bit off kilter. Part of a Fancy That! BorderBling was used as hanger to center the bird cage to the card. Bird pieces were cut out of My Mind’s Eye Honey patterned paper. The edges of the paper were sanded and the wing was stamped with a matching image from the set.  A black rhinestone was used as an eye and the bird was adhered to the cage with square adhesive foam.

A piece of white cardstock was cut with an MFT Sentiment Strip Die-namic die. A sentiment from Contemporary cage was stamped in to the right and the left end was cut off. Small diamonds from the Distressed Diamonds stamp set was stamped in Summer Sky Memento Ink over the sentiment panel before it was adhered to the upper left hand side of the cage. A little heart stamped in Ladybug Memento Ink was cut out and adhered to the top right of the sentiment panel to finish off the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

The new Crafty Friends Challenge is super easy. Charmaine is the hostess and she is asking you to incorporate dry embossing into your project. I combined the challenge with yesterday’s Hope You Can Cling to Challenge.

I started out by embossing a 3″ x 5″ piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock with the Simplicity M-Bossabilities folder. The bottom right and top left corners were rounded. The layer was stitched to a 3/16″ bigger piece of black cardstock, before it was adhered with foam adhesive squares to the card base, a 3 1/2″ x 11″ piece of textured Kraft cardstock, folded in half.

Three butterflies were cut out of My Mind’s Eye Honey patterned paper, topped with rhinestones from a Sleek Strips Silver Rhinestones. Another piece of Honey paper was cut and embossed with a Spellbinders Nested Pennants die. The edges were sanded and stamped with a sentiment of MFT’s Thanks a Bunch Stamp set in Jet Black Archival ink.

A flourish was cut out of black cardstock , adhered to the left hand side of the Pennant sentiment strip and topped with a yellow button.

I created this tag for last week’s Way to use it challenge on Splitcoast.  I cut a piece of Kraft cardstock, cut with the Four Point Die-namics die. A background from Own your Story was stamped in Brilliance Moonlight White ink over the tag and the edges were sponged with the same ink.

Once the ink dried  the flourish from the same set was stamped in Spanish Olive VersaMagic ink on the bottom of  tag and a sentiment of the set with with Midnight Black VersaMagic Ink.  A piece of My Mind’s Eye Six by Six A Mother’s Love was cut with a Mini Rolled Roses Die-namics die, rolled into a flower and adhered above the green flourish. A tiny part of a Finesse Rhinestone Swirl was adhered on the upper right of the flower. White Crinkled Ribbon was tied on to the tag with a button and Linen Thread.

Sorry I am so late posting today. While I was good about participating in this week’s challenges at Splitcoaststampers, I was horrible at writing my blog posts for my creations.

I created this card for both Monday’s Technique Challenge (create your own polka dots) and Monday’s CAS challenge (sketch). I started by cutting Neenah Solar White cardstock and patterned paper from BBP All Hallow’s Eve with MFT’s Cameo die-namics die. Next I stamped the frame of the matching set in Jet Black Archival ink over the patterned paper frame. The image from Sweetest Pumpkin in the Patch was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and was colored with Spectrum Markers (Skin: FS2, FS3, TN2 Pumpkin: GB5, OR1, GB7, G10 Stem: DG2, TN2, GB7, GB10, TN7 Shirt: DG2, DG4 Pants: EB7, EB8 Hair: CT2, TN2, GB8 Background: BT1, BT2).

The card base is a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Kraft cardstock folded in half. The bottom corners were rounded.  A 5/8″ x 3 1/4″ piece of BBP All Hallow’s Eve paper was adhered to the lower right hand side of the card. A 5/8″  x 3 5/8″ strip of black cardstock was stamped in the polka dot background from MFT’s By the Numbers stamp set with Distress Embossing Ink and embossed with white embossing powder. The black strip was adhered underneath the patterned paper strip.

Two buttons were added with embroidery thread to dress up the card. I didn’t have the right color thread for my white button, so I colored with the the BT1 Spectrum Noir Markers. The image layers were adhered slightly over the paper strip with foam adhesive squares. A sentiment from the Sweetest Pumpkin In the Patch was stamped on the bottom left of the card to finish off the card.

The first challenge from last weekend’s Virtual Stamp Night was to create a card with Note book paper.  The paper we have at home was really thin, so I first adhered a piece of copy paper behind it to give it a bit more stability. Then I cut and embossed it with a die from Spellbinders Office Supplies set.  Next I stamped an image from MFT My Favorite Sentiments in  Jet Black Archival Ink on the lower right of the layer.  It was adhered to the lower right of the card base, a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of cardstock, folded in half with the bottom corners rounded.

Black, Berrylicious and White cardstock were cut with Banner Day Die Die-namics and adhered on top of each other. Three hearts from Tag You’re It stamp set were stamped in Ladybug Memento Ink on white cardstock, cut out and taped to the center of each banner piece. Rhinestones in between each banner piece and one in the sentiment finish off the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful Monday!

I am excited to be hosting the current Crafty Friend Challenge. Since Halloween is just around the corner the challenge is a theme: Halloween. Anything that you can think of Halloween related. For my sample I filled an old Prima Flower bottle (washed it first, of course) with Candy Corn and made a matching card.

My latest order from My Favorite things included Lisa Johnson’s Primitive Pumpkins set. I thought it would be perfect for this challenge. First I decorated the bottle.

I started by stamping a background from Well Worn in Jet Black Archival Ink on Kraft cardstock, that had been cut with a die that came with that set.  Neenah Solar White cardstock was cut with another Well Worn Die-namics die. A frame from Well Worn set was stamped over it, then a sentiment from Primitive Pumpkins was stamped in it’s center. Three stars from that set were stamped to the label with Pear Tart Memento Ink.

The smallest pumpkin was stamped in Wild Honey Distress Ink on white cardstock, that had been cut with the matching die. A sour apple button was tied on the stem with  Linen Thread. The pumpkin was adhered to the label with  foam adhesive squares. A small hole was punched on each end of the label and it was tied to the bottle with linen thread, as well as adhered with two foam adhesive squares (to make sure it doesn’t slip).

White cardstock was cut with the Notched Tag die and stamped with the border from the Notched Tag stamp set.  A sentiment from the Primitive Pumpkins set was stamped in the tag along with some stars. Linen thread was tied on along with a Orange Fizz Button and tied around the neck of the bottle.

The card base of the matching card is a 3 1/2″ x 7″ piece of Kraft cardstock, folded in half. the star banner from Primitive Pumpkins was stamped to the left, with a sentiment and swirl on the upper right side with Jet Black Archival ink . The big pumpkin was stamped in black on white cardstock, the medium pumpkin in Pear Tart. Both were cut out and adhered to the card base with foam adhesive squares.  Another Orange Fizz button was tied to the big pumpkin and a knot out of Linen thread on the medium pumpkin finish off the card.

I hope you have time to participate in the challenge. If we have more then ten entries, I will give away two My Favorite Things sets with matching dies as well as a 6×6 pack. Every challenge entry is an entry for the raffle.

That was the name of last week’s Free For All Challenge on SCS. It has been a long time since I participated in a  Challenge on Splitcoaststampers and it’s time to get out of the summer funk and back to playing challenges. 🙂  For the card I picked the darling image of Where Flowers Bloom. It was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Classic White cardstock. The image was colored with  Copic Markers (Lamb: W00, E81, R00, R000 Jacket: R00, R11, R12 Pants:N0, N1, N3, N5 Ground: Y11, Y13, Y17 Flowers: Y13, Y15, Y17, YR15, E97, E25).

The edges of the image layer were paper pierced and masked. Next the lamb was masked and cloud dies were added. The background was airbrushed with Copic Marker B01. The clouds were shaded with Copic Markers W00, W0 and W1.

A piece of Echo Park Hello Summer paper was cut into a Pennant die. The edges were sanded before it was adhered to a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of the same paper pack. The bottom corners were rounded, the edges were sanded and stitched. May Arts sheer ribbon was tied around the layers before the layers were adhered to the card base, a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of white cardstock, folded in half. The bow was topped with a button, tied on with embroidery thread.

A sentiment from Bundle of Baby was stamped to the lower right corner with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Part of a  Fancy That! Border Bling was adhered under the sentiment and several rhinestones from the Sleek Strip Silver Rhinestones was added to the upper left corner.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!
