Hi there! Sorry I am so quiet lately. Another book series has me in it’s grip. I have to stop reading once this one is over and get back in my stamping groove.

It’s my turn to share on the Spellbinders blog today. This week is all about techniques and I used the new Hexagon dies to create a quilted background. I hope you have time to check out the entire photo tutorial.

Thanks so much for looking! Have a wonderful day!

For my last project for JustRite Stampers I used a new fall set called Shabby Chic Autumn Leaves set. I hope you have time to check out the card (I had to use those gorgeous Decorative Label Eight dies again. They will definitely become one of my favorite die set!) on the JustRite Stampers blog.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

My second project for the JustRite Stampers blog was created with the gorgeous new stamps Becca Feeken designed. I am so excited that she has her own stamp line now. I love her style!

I hope you have time to go to the blog and check out the entire card. Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

It’s release week at Flourishes. Today’s sneak peek set is a gorgeous new flower set from Marcella Hawley. The image is so much fun to color. It’s practically screams summer and begs for fun, bright colors.

I stamped the big image in  Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on white cardstock. The image was cut with the smallest of the Grand Oval Nestabilities die and colored with Copic Markers (B60, B63, B66, YG21, YG25, YG17, C00, C3). The edges were sponged with Tumbled Glass Distress ink and the oval was adhered to a piece of black cardstock that was hand cut into a slightly bigger layer.

A sentiment from the set was stamped on white cardstock that had been cut and embossed with one of the Tailor-Made Classic Tag dies. The center had been sponged with Tumbled ink. The tag was tied to a Sheer Ribbon bow and adhered to the lower left of the image. Part of a Silver Finesse Rhinestone swirl was adhered on the tag as well as on the upper right of the image.

The layers were adhered to the card base, white cardstock, cut and embossed with the second smallest of the Grand Decorative Oval Nestabilities die.

Today is Silke and my first Flourishes Friday Focus post. It is time for a sketch challenge. I used an image from the Nasturtiums set and a sentiment from the Fuchsias in Bloom set.  Both sets are on the retirement list and won’t be available much longer.

I started by cutting and embossing a piece of white cardstock with the soon to be released Card Creator Matting B Basics (3rd smallest die). I stamped the big image from Nasturtiums in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on the piece while the die was still over it. I stamped part of it again so I could cut one flower off and overlay it on the main image. The image was colored with Copic Markers (Y21, Y23, Y35, Y38, YR07, YR09, G40, G43, G46, BG000, BG01) and adhered to a piece of cardstock cut and embossed with the third largest Card Creator Postage Edges die.

A piece of My Mind’s Eye Howdy Doody Paper was cut and embossed with the third smallest of the Card Creator Matting A Basics die. The paper was sanded and the edges were stitched before it was adhered behind the image layers.

The layers were adhered to a piece of white cardstock, cut and embossed with the second largest Postage Edges Card Creator die. The layers were adhered to the card base,  a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of green cardstock, folded in half.

A 4 1/4″ long strip of white cardstock was cut and embossed a Classic Edges One die and a Classic Decorative Insert Five die. Ribbon was tied around the top  before the strip was adhered to the card base.  The ribbon was topped with a button. Parts of a Finesse Rhinestone Swirl and a few small rhinestones finish off the card.

If you are interested in winning the two “soon to be retired” Flourishes set I used for this card, just add your url to the Mr. Linky underneath. I will pick a winner on Monday with the help of random.org.

Hello and welcome to Day 6 of our June Rubber & Die Release Showcase!

On Wednesday (20 June) Whimsy Stamps released this month’s new rubber designs, new Shapeology dies and new Shape EZ by TLC. From then until 26 June the Whimsy Stamps DT and Special Guests are showcasing these fabulous new goodies with a daily mini blog hop and I am part of today’s hop!

My sample today was created with another new image from Elisabeth Bell. I stamped Lemon Pepper’s Laundry Day Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock,. It was cut and embossed with the largest  Classic Square Nestabilities die. The image was colored with Copic Markers (Shirt/birds: Y00, Y02, Y04, Y08   Jeans/blanket: B91, B93, B95, B97, B99   Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11   Hair: Y32, E33, E37, E29   Apron/Laundry: YG01, YG03, YG17   Apron/Sheet/Cat: N0, N1, N3    Flowers/Blanket: Y35, Y38, YR07    Ground: YG61, YG63, YG67, E31    Background: BG0000, BG000). The image was adhered to a piece of Kraft cardstock, cut and embossed with the largest swatches die.

A piece of Pink Paislee Spring Jubilee Patterned Paper was cut and embossed with a  Grand Square Nestabilities die. The edges were sanded and stitched. Another piece of Spring Jubilee paper was sanded and stitched and adhered slightly askew over the bigger layer. Aqua Sheer ribbon was tied around the layers before they were adhered to the card base, white cardstock cut and embossed with a Grand Scallop Square Nestabilities die.

The image was adhered over the card base with dimensionals. A sentiment from the new Definition Notables 4 sentiments was stamped twice in Tuxedo Black on Neenah White cardstock. The bold words were cut out and adhered to the left of the image.

I left the card without further embellishments, not wanting to distract from the very detailed image.

Hi everyone! I am excited to be able to show you a new die coming out soon.  I LOVE the new Card Creators dies that Spellbinders™ is launching! They are perfect for creating wonderful shaped cards. Today I get to show you the Polka Dot Card Creators die. I used the largest one to create the base for this card.

Supply List:

  • Spellbinders™ Grand Calibur machine
  • S5-133 Card Creators A2 Polka Dots (MSRP $29.99)
  • S5-131 Card Creators A2 Matting Basics A (MSRP $29.99)
  • S5-132 Card Creators A2 Matting Basics B (MSRP $29.99)
  • Flourishes Gerber Daisies
  • Want2Scrap Silver Sleek Rhinestones Strip

I started by cutting and embossing a piece of white cardstock with the largest Polka Dot die. Because the die is so intricate, I placed a piece of wax paper over the die before placing the cardstock over it. It helps getting the die cut out of the die after it is cut and embossed.

Another piece of white cardstock with the fourth largest of the Basic A dies and a Kraft cardstock with the third largest Basic B die.

The card base and the Kraft piece of cardstock were taken out the die; I left the white rectangle in the die.

The image was stamped to the white card piece with the die still over it. The image was colored with Copic Markers (Flowers: Y11, Y13, Y15, W3    Flower Center: E42, E43, E44, E47    Leaves: YG61, YG63, YG67).

The image was masked, and then the edges were sponged. The image was first adhered to the Kraft layer, then to the card base.  A sentiment from the same stamp set was stamped on the upper right side and the word friend was underlined with rhinestones from a Sleek Silver Rhinestones Strip from Want2Scrap.

A piece of white cardstock was folded in half to create the card base. Again a piece of wax paper was placed over the die before the cardstock was added. When cutting card bases with dies, make sure you do NOT cut the folded part. Place it so that it lies inside the die.

I added Scor-Tape to the inside of the card base and liquid glue on the outer parts. Then the pieces were adhered to finish the card.

These dies not only look good as a card base, but also as layers on cards. I created another card sample to show the smaller dies off.  I used the longer and thin die to create covers for Hershey nuggets. Those are a great way to dress up chocolate quickly .

It was my turn to create a tutorial for Splitcoaststampers. I decided to create a tutorial on how to create shaped cards. I still get a lot of questions on how to do that. For my sample card I used the darling Blush Babette image from The Greeting Farm. It was stamped  in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock. The image was cut and embossed with a Petite Oval Nestabilities die and colored with Copic Markers (Skin: E000, E00, E01 Hair: Y26, E33, E35, E37 Dress: R11, R12, R14 Socks: YR30, YR31 Ground: W3, W5, W7, W9).

The image was sponged with Antique Linen Distress Ink before it was adhered first to a piece of Kraft cardstock, cut and embossed with the next size bigger piece of Petite Oval Nestabilities die, then on white cardstock, cut and embossed with the largest  Floral Oval Nestabilities die.

Two pieces of My Mind’s Eye Follow Your Heart Be Happy paper were cut and embossed with a Grand Rectangle Nestabilities die. The edges were sanded, stitched and May Arts ribbon was tied around the horizontal strip. The paper was adhered to the card base, white cardstock, cut and embossed with a Grand Scallop Rectangle die. The ribbon was topped with a button, tied on with embroidery thread.

Three little flowers (Michaels) were adhered to the lower left corner of the image. The sentiment from Blush Babette was stamped in Tuxedo Black on a piece of white cardstock, cut and embossed with the smallest of the Petite Oval Nestabilities die. The sentiment was adhered underneath the bow.  Fancy That! Border Bling on the top right and part of a Silver Finesse Rhinestone Swirl on the lower left finish off the card.
