Hi everyone! For all my followers that have been with me quite a while, you might remember when I first started blogging and had a weekly sketch challenge. I missed having a challenge with my friends, so I started a new one. I hope you can join us over at Crafty Friends Challenges. This challenge is just supposed to be for fun. No stress. It will be a bi-weekly challenge and the first challenge is Vintage.

For my card I stamped the gorgeous main image from Butterfly Kisses in Pink Petunia VersaMagic ink. The image was cut out and  Frost Smooch Glitz was added over the flower and wings of the image.  A frame was cut and embossed out of Kraft cardstock with the third largest Large Petite Oval Nestabilities die and the largest Floral Oval Nestabilities die. A piece of Pink Paislee London Market Patterned paper was cut with the next size up oval. The frame was adhered over the oval with dimensional adhesive and the fairy was adhered to the left hand side of the frame.

Another piece of London Market paper was cut and embossed with the second smallest Grand Rectangle Nestabilities die, sanded and the edges were stitched. May Arts ribbon was tied around it vertically and threaded through one of the Floral Oval openings. The bow was topped with a button, tied on with a Linen Thread.  The layers were adhered to the card base, white cardstock cut and embossed with a Grand Scallop Rectangle die.

A piece of white cardstock was cut and embossed with one of the Nested Pennant dies. A sentiment from Butterfly kisses was stamped on it with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. The pennant was shaped and adhered to the upper right hand side of the frame. The butterfly from the set was stamped in Pixie Dust Versamagic. It was cut out and adhered next to the sentiment. Rhinestones from Baby Bling and Sleek Strips Silver Rhinestones were added to the frame and the butterfly. Part of a Fancy That! Border Bling on the upper left hand corner finish off the card.

This card didn’t just work for our new challenge, but also for the current Really Reasonable Ribbon challenge, which is to use buttons and bows. I LOVE adding a button over my bows to finish them off. Oftentimes my bows look naked without that button!

I really hope you have a chance to play. Like I said…it’s just for fun. Thanks so much for stopping by!

The current JustRite Stampers challenge is to create a card using spring colors and butterflies. I just got new Spellbinders dies in and couldn’t wait to try out the smaller of the two butterfly dies from Wings of Hope. I cut and embossed a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock and sponged the butterfly with the die still on with Cantaloupe Memento Ink.

A frame from JustRite Stampers Kindness was stamped in Rich Cocoa Memento Ink on  Solar White cardstock. It was cut and embossed with the largest Label 20 Nestabilities die. Another piece of white cardstock was cut and embossed with the smallest of the Large Petite Oval Nestabilities die and sponged with New Sprout Memento Ink. A sentiment from Kindness was stamped in Rich Cocoa ink on the oval before that was adhered to the stamped frame with dimensionals. The butterfly was adhered to the lower right of the frame.

An image from Classic Scallop Border I was stamped in Rich Cocoa ink on white cardstock and cut out. It was stitched to a piece of Pink Paislee London Market Patterned paper that had been cut and embossed with the second smallest  Grand Rectangle Nestabilities die and the edges had been sanded. Fancy Waves! Border bling was adhered to the bottom of the scallop before the sentiment and butterfly were adhered to the center of the paper.

A piece of vellum was cut and embossed with the largest of the Floral Oval Nestabilities dies and adhered under the sentiment layers with dimensionals.  May Arts ribbon was threaded between the Vellum and the label, the label was adhered to the patterned paper with dimensionals and the ribbon was tied into a bow. Everything was adhered to the card base, which was cut and embossed out of Solar White cardstock with a Grand Scallop Rectangle die. Rhinestones from the new Sleek Strips Silver Rhinestones on the butterfly and label finish off the card.

I hope you have time to participate in the challenge. You could win JustRite stamps! Have a wonderful weekend!

P.S.: Yes, I am hooked on Grand Scalloped Rectangle cards right now and that Floral Oval hasn’t left my desk since I unpacked it. Hi…I am Beate and I am a Spellbindersaholic…..no, I don’t want a 7 step program. I am loving with it!

Today’s Timeless Tuesday challenge hostess is Silke. She created a great sketch for us. For my sample I pulled out the Hyacinth Hello stamp set. I hadn’t used the image with the flower in the vase yet and thought it was perfect for this time of the year (with a bit of wishful thinking…).

The image was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock. It was colored with Copic Markers ( Petals: Rooo, R00, R01, R02, T2, T3    Leaves: G20, YG01, G21, YG63    Bulb: E30, E31, E33   Water: B41, B0000) and cut out. A piece of Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden paper was cut and embossed with a Standard Circle Nestabilities die. The edges were sanded and the circle was stitched to a piece of white cardstock, cut and embossed with the largest Tear Drop Circle Nestabilities die.

Another piece of Pink Paislee paper was cut and embossed with the second smallest Grand Square Nestabilities die. The edges were sanded and adhered to a piece of white cardstock, cut and embossed with the second smallest Grand Scallop Square Nestabilities die.  The edges of two 1 3/4″ x 4″ strips of green patterned paper of the same paper pack were sanded, then stitched, then adhered to  the square layers vertically. Two more strips were cut, sanded and stitched and adhered over the layers horizontally.

Organdy Ribbon was tied through the Tear Drop pieces before the image layers were adhered to the card base with dimensionals. A sentiment from the Hyacinth Hello in Tuxedo Black ink on a piece of white cardstock, cut and embossed with the retired 5 in 1 Tag die. The inner part of the tag was colored with Copic Markers (R000, R00, R01, R02) and tiny Stardust Stickles dots were added. The tag was tied to the bow with embroidery thread. The same thread tied an October Afternoon button over the bow.

More Stardust Stickles was added to the center of the flower petals. Parts of a Finesse Rhinestone Swirl were adhered to the top left and button right corners and additional Rhinestones on the upper left hand side finish off the card.

Today is another blog hop for a new JustRite Stampers set called Sea Shell Bay. I love the seahorse image and had to ink it up as soon as I got it.

I stamped the image with Rich Cocoa Memento Ink on a piece of  Neenah Classic White cardstock. It was cut and embossed with a  Label 22 Nestabilities die and colored with Copic Markers ( Sea Horse: YR61, YR63, YR68   Background: BG70, 2/3rd BG72 custom marker, BG72    Stars and Rope: YR21, YR24  Eyelets: C1, C3, C5). The image was adhered to a piece of Kraft cardstock, that had been hand cut into a slightly bigger layer. Stardust Stickles was added to the tiny bubbles on the image.

Pieces of Pink Paislee Nantucket Patterned paper were adhered into a big square and then cut and embossed with a  Grand Circle Nestabilities die. Ivory Crochet Lace was adhered over one of the paper seam and the edges of the circle were stitched. The circle was then adhered to the card base; Kraft cardstock cut and embossed with a Grand Scalloped Circle Nestabilities die.

The image was adhered to the card with dimensionals. Rhinestones from a  72 Count Rhinestone pack were added to the right hand side of it and part of a Finesse Rhinestone Swirl underneath. A bow was tied out of seam binding, topped with a Basic Grey button and adhered to the lower right of the image layer to finish it off.

The inside of the card is kept very simple. A white cardstock circle with a strip of Nantucket Paper. A sentiment was stamped over it in Rich Cocoa Memento ink and a shell was stamped behind it in second generation Vintage Photo ink.

Be sure to visit the rest of the DT blogs to see their beautiful work with this set!
