A little bit about me and FTC declaration

I am born and raised in Klein-Gerau, Germany.  The next big city is Frankfurt and is about 30 minutes away. I met my husband Rick when I was 18 and we got married 5 years later. Rick is in the Air Force and we move quite a lot. Since we got married we  lived in Rome, NY; Newport News, VA; 3 years  in Germany; Swansea, IL; San Antonio, TX; Niceville, FL ,Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio (Dayton area) and now Edmond, OK. We do feel San Antonio is our home and hope to retire there some day. We still miss the beaches of Florida.

I have always been doing some kind of craft. Back in Germany I knitted. In New York I cross stitched. In Virginia I had two boys under two and no time for crafts. In Germany I quilted. Then in Illinois, I started stamping. I went to my first Stampin’ Up! workshop on January 2003 and that was it for me. Gorgeous stamps and then stamp sets for free! Hel-looooo. I was so getting all of the sets. By the time the new catalog came out that July, I couldn’t take it anymore. I had to sign up….just for the discount. LOL Later that year Daven asked me to write tutorials for SCS….and I have been doing that ever since. I resigned as a demonstrator in the fall of 2009, when Stampin’ Up! changed their rules for demonstrators. I still wanted to share non Stampin’ Up! projects and tutorials on this blog and link to the places where you can order all the products I used.

Rick and I are blessed with three wonderful children (need to take a new picture):

Austin is 17 years old and taller then me. He is already acting so grown up!
Lucas 15  years old and is our wild child with a soft side. He is also taller then me by now. I love the way he laughs!
Rebecca is 13. She is so sweet and gentle and loves all things girly.

  1. Dear Beate,

Thank you for sharing with us about you, your family and your crafting journey. I am a visual learner and want you to know how grateful I am for the video tutorials you make for Splitcoasterstampers. I watch everyone that comes out and am delighted to have a successful outcome on a project or card myself after watching your demonstration. I just can’t thank you enough.

Now that I have clicked over to your blog, I can follow that also. I appreciate your work ethics and value the fact that you only share information on products that you use yourself and think are helpful. Thank you for your high standard.

I like very much your video’s for Splitcoaststampers. Every week I’m excited wich card you will make an d explain. Sometimes your English is little bit different from all the American ladies, now I know it is because of your German background.
