Hi there! Sorry I am so quiet lately. Another book series has me in it’s grip. I have to stop reading once this one is over and get back in my stamping groove.

It’s my turn to share on the Spellbinders blog today. This week is all about techniques and I used the new Hexagon dies to create a quilted background. I hope you have time to check out the entire photo tutorial.

Thanks so much for looking! Have a wonderful day!

It’s release week at Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps. Today Cheryl Alger’s new set Lulu on the Move is being featured. I stamped an image in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock. The image was cut and embossed with a Petite Oval Nestabilities die and colored with Copic Markers (Skin: E000, E01, E11 Hair: Y11, Y13, E31 Shirt: BG000, BG01, BG05 Skirt: YG01, YG03, YG17 Roller Blades: RV000, RV10, RV13, N0, N1, N3, N5, N7 Ground: W3, W5, W7, W9). The edges of the oval were paper pierced.

A strip of Pink Paislee Spring Jubilee Patterned Paper was adhered to a bigger piece from the same paper pack. The paper was cut and embossed with the largest of the Label 21 Nestabilities die, the edges were sanded and the paper was cut down at the embossed line.  The edges of the paper were stitched.

A piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock was folded in half and cut and embossed with the same Label 21 die to create the card base. Pink Ribbon was tied around the horizontal patterned paper strip before the papers were adhered to the card base. A sentiment from the new set was stamped in Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock that had been cut and embossed with a Nested Lacey Pennants die. The sentiment was tied to the bow along with a button with embroidery thread. Part of a silver Finesse Rhinestone Swirl and Fancy Waves! Border bling finish off the card.

Please check out the Kraftin’ Kimmie blog find links to blogs of other designers that created a card with that set.

In today’s Weekly Inkling we had the Smackin’ Acetate technique as the technique from the Archive. It was a tutorial I wrote a long time ago and needed an update BAD.

For my sample I used my new Distress Markers (Wild Honey, Shabby Shutter and Tumbled Glass) on Whisper White cardstock. I tried it with Neenah and Glossy cardstock, but Neenah was too soft and Glossy to slick. Whisper White seems to work best.

Once the background was dry, an image from Taylored Expressions Embrace Beauty was stamped over it withJet Black Archival ink. The image was cut out with a  Standard Circle Nestabilities die. The image was layered  first on a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock cut and embossed with a Scalloped Circle Nestabilities die, then on more Solar White cardstock, cut and embossed with one of the Parisian Motifs die.

A strip of  My Mind’s Eye Follow your Heart Be Amazing patterned paper was adhered to a bigger square of the same paper pack. The paper was cut and embossed with one of the  Grand Square Nestabilities die. The edges were sanded and stitched.May Arts ribbon was threaded through the bigger layer before the layers were adhered to the patterned paper with dimensionals. The layers were then adhered to the card base, Solar White cardstock, cut and embossed with a Grand Scallop Square Nestabilities die.

A sentiment from Make it Amazing was stamped in Jet Black Archival Ink on a piece of Solar White cardsttock cut and embossed with a Home Sweet Home die pack. It was tied to the bow with embroidery thread and a button. Parts of a black Finesse Rhinestone swirl finish off the card.

I hadn’t used the gorgeous new Calla Lilies set from the latest release and was itching to color those flowers. They are so pretty. I stamped the main image in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Classic White cardstock. It was colored with Copic Markers (Y11, Y13, Y15, YR18, YG01, YG03, YG17) and cut out.

A piece of My Mind’s Eye Miss Caroline Howdy Dowdy paper was cut with a  Standard Circle Nestabilities die. It was embossed with the new So Trendy M-Bossabilities Folder. The embossed paper was sanded, then stitched to a piece of Solar White cardstock, cut and embossed with the largest Tear Drop Circle Nestabilities die.The lilies were adhered to circle layers with dimensionals.

A 2 1/2″ wide strip of MME Lime Twist Life is a Party paper strip was adhered to a bigger piece. Both layers were cut and embossed with a Grand Circle Nestabilities die. The edges were sanded and stitched before a White Organdy ribbon was threaded through one of the Tear drops and tied around the round paper layers. The image was adhered over the circle with dimensionals.

The layers were adhered to a piece of white cardstock, that had been cut and embossed with a Grand Scalloped Circle die.  The card base was cut and embossed with the same die out of white cardstock and the card front was adhered to the base.

A sentiment from Tag Lines was stamped in Tuxedo Black ink on Solar White cardstock that had been cut and embossed with a Fancy Tag Die. The embossed center was airbrushed with Copic Marker Y11. The sentiment layer was adhered to the lower left of the Lilies. Three Baby Bling Rhinestones were added under the sentiment. Part of a Finesse Rhinestone swirl finish off the card.
