I created this card for Friday’s Free for All Challenge on SCS as well as the Friday sketch from OCL. I used an image from the new OCL set Penguins at play. It was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored with Copic Markers (Penguin N0, N1, N3, Beak: YR21, YR23, Snow B0000, Scarf: YG21, YG23, YG25, Sign: E31, E33, E35). The image was cut and embossed with Classic Circle Nestabilities, the sky airbrushed with Copic Marker BG01 and then layered on a black piece of cardstock, cut and embossed with the Fair Isle Pendant die.

oclpenguinf4a27.jpg

A 2″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Good Cheer October Afternoon paper was adhered to a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece from the same collection. The paper was sanded, then stitched to a 1/4″ bigger piece of Basic Black cardstock. White May Arts ribbon was tied around the horizontal strip before the layers were attached a 5 3/4″ x 9 1/2″ (folded in half) piece of Core’dination cardstock.

To dress up the card Basic Grey and My Mind’s Eye buttons were stitched to the pendant die. 1/2″ linen ribbon was colored with R59 to match the paper and button and placed under a button on the top left of the black frame. Stardust Stickles was added over the snow drift and snow balls.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful Sunday!

For my card I started out by stamping the Eiffel Tower in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock. It was cut with Deckled Long Nestabilities  and colored with Copic Markers (C1, C3, C5, B21, B0000). A 3/8″ wide strip of Webster’s Pages patterned paper was adhered under the image and gray Taffeta Ribbon (Stampin’ Up!) was tied around it. The deckled layer was adhered to a black scallope rectangle cut with Long Scallop Nestabilities. The top of an Antique Brad (Stampin’ Up!) was colored with C5 Copic Marker and added over the knot of the ribbon.

The card base is a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Basic Black cardstock folded in half. A 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Webster’s Pages was adhered to the base.  To make the card fit for today’s OCL’s sketch challenge, I stamped 2 1/2 tickets from the same set on a white cardstock strip, colored it with B21 and B0000 Markers and distressed the edges. On top of that strip I added a 7/8″ wide strip of Webster’s Pages pages. I used the same paper to cut a partial 1 1/4″ circle. That was taped on the top left of the card base and topped with a white Basic Grey button.

oclvintagetravelercopicinsi.jpg

The inside of the card is kept pretty simple. A 1 3/4″ x 3 4/5″ piece of the Webster’s pages paper from the front was adhered to the lower half of a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock. Another ticket was stamped on the green accent paper that was also used on the front, cut out and colored with the light blue markers.

If you would like to see another sample I made with the new Art of Nature set, check this blog post from last Saturday.

Have fun blog hopping and good luck on winning one of the new sets. You have until Sunday 3 p.m. EST to post comments. Winners will be chosen randomly. Make sure you leave your email address with your comment so we can reach you in case you win.

I made this card forOur Craft Lounge’s Sketch challenge and the Free For All Challenge on Splitcoast.  I cut and embossed three 1 5/8″ circles with Classic Circle Nestabilities out of Neenah Solar White cardstock and stamped an image from the new OCL set The Art of Nature  on each circle with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink . The images were colored with Copic Markers. I went a little crazy and used quite a lot of different colors.  You can see all the markers I used in the thumbnail as well as closeup shots of each image.

oclartofnaturecopics.jpg   oclartofnaturedt26basket.jpg  oclartofnaturedt26barn.jpg  oclartofnaturedt26flowers.jpg

The card base is a 4 1/2″ x 12″ piece of textured Chocolate Chip cardstock folded in half. A 4 1/2″ x 5″ piece of Be Loved Paper from My Mind’s Eye was cut and embossed on the lower edge with Lattice Borderabilities. Another piece of Be Loved  Paper was cut down to 4″ x 4 1/2″ and stitched to the 4″ x 5″ layer.

oclartofnaturedt26beate.jpg

White Silk Ribbon from May Arts was tied around the layers. A tag was cut out of Neenah White cardsdtock with a Spellbinder Die. The sentiment was stamped on it with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and the inner part of the tag was colored with Copic Marker BG10. It was tied around the ribbon with a  Basic Grey Button and string.

The images were adhered to the card front with dimensionals. Three Kaisercraft Pearl Pearls finish off the card base.

oclartofnaturedt26inside.jpg

For the inside of the card I cut a 4 3/16″ x 5 11/16″ piece of Whisper White cardstock and layered it with more Be Loved paper.

On Wednesday last week SCS posted a Product Review for Smooch™ Spritz. It’s always fun to try out product new to me. It helps me get out of my comfort zone. Pearlized Spray is a bit messy, so I had stayed away from it until now. I did have a great time playing with it and trying out different ways to use it.

Because I was at the CHA and had too much fun hanging out with old friends and making new ones, I am posting my sample along with the video I shot for the product now.

oclvintagetravelersmooched.jpg

For this sample I used the spray two different ways. First I used Cosmic Pink Smooch Spritz to dye my white flower (Stampin’ Up! Pretties Kit) and my white cotton ribbon. While those were drying I stamped the Eiffel Tower image from OCL’s Vintage Traveler (new set, should be available really soon) Embossing Ink on Basic Grey cardstock and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I sprayed Citrus Tickle and Green Olive Smooch Spritz over that, let it dry and buffed the surface a bit with a damp rag to make my Eiffel tower show up more.

The layer was stitched to a 3 15/16″ square of white cardstock. My pink flower as adhered to the lower left corner with dimensionals after a Philosophy tag was added in the center with a small brad. The ribbon was attached with an Antique Brad (Stampin’ Up!) on the upper right hand corner.

oclvintagetravelersmoochins.jpg

For the inside of the card I stamped the Eiffel Tower in Pumice Stone Distress ink on the lower right hand side  of a 3 3/4″ square of Neenah Solar White cardstock and embossed it with clear embossing powder. Citrus Tickle and Green Olive were sprayed over it. I left most of the left hand side white for a personal message.

The square was stitched on a 3 15/16″ square of White cardstock before it was adhered to the inside of the card.

I made this card for the sketch challenge this week on SCS. I had Hot Betty for a bit and haven’t used her . The sketch this week was perfect for her.

I stamped Betty on a 1 7/8″ x 3 3/8″ piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. She was colored with Copic Markers (R24, R29, E50, E51, C1, C3, C5, C7, C9, BG10) and stitched on a slightly bigger piece of Basic Black cardstock. The layers were adhered to a piece of Basic Grey cardstock that had been cut with Long Rectangle Nestabilities. White dots were added to the skirt with an Inkessential White Opaque Pen to create more interest.

oclhotbettysc286reserve2.jpg

The cardbase is a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Basic Black cardstock folded in half. A 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Hometown October Afternoon paper was stitched to a 3 15/16″ x 5 3/16″ piece of Neenah White cardstock. Red Satin Ribbon was tied around it before a stitched 1 3/4″ x 4 1/2″ piece of stitched Hometown paper was adhered over it with dimensionals.

The sentiment is also from Hot Betty. It was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock and cut out with Fancy Tag Spellbinders die. I cut the fancy part off. The oval was the perfect shape. The image was airbrushed with BG10. To finish the card front off I added three black Kaisercraft Rhinestones to the lower right hand corner.

oclhotbettyinside.jpg

The inside of the card is pretty simple. A couple of more Hometown paper strips were stitched to a 3 15/16″ x 5 3/16″ piece of Whisper White cardstock. The rest of the sentiment was stamped on Neenah White cardstock, cut with Petite Oval Nestablities and airbrushed with Copic Marker R24.

There is a new online store called Inspiration Emporium. I will start selling some of my cards there soon.  I am excited and a bit nervous about that. To celebrate the grand opening I received a coupon to share with you. 20% off orders! How sweet is that?

This card was created for a Free For all Challenge on SCS. Jeanne challenged us to make a masculine card. I tried to do so by using no ribbon, no flowers and dark patterned paper. I think I messed it up a bit when I added the scalloped edge, but I just couldn’t help myself.

oclsayitbigf4a15boything.jpg

The card base is a 7″ x 8″ piece of Kraft cardstock, folded in half. The edges of a 4″ x 7″ piece of October Afternoon Hometown paper were sanded, sponged with Antique Linen and a border was stitched on the edges before it was adhered to the card front.

A 1 7/8″ x 7″ piece of the same Hometown paper (other side) was sanded, sponged with Antique Linen and was stitched to a wider Very Vanilla cardstock strip that had been cut with Jumbo Scallop Borderabilities.

The sentiment is from the Our Craft Lounge set Say it Big. It was stamped in Jet Black Archival Ink on a 1 3/8″ x 3 7/8″ piece of Kraft cardstock. The edges were distressed and a row was pierced under the saying. The card needed some kind of embellishment, so I opted for two ivory buttons that were threaded with linen colored Burlap string.

The Free for All Challenge a couple of weeks back was to create a card inspired by one of your collections (not including your stamping supplies). I don’t really collect many things, but I LOVE to read and to watch movies. I figured…that leads to a comfy a chair and I picked Our Craft’s Live, Laugh, Lounge stamp set to create the card. That way I could make the card also work for the OCL sketch of that week.

The chair was stamped on Gina K. Pure Luxury Ivory cardstock in Tuxedo Black Memento ink. It was cut out with Label 13 Nestabilities and colored with Copic Markers (R29, R59, E50, E51). With the die still on the cardstock, the image was air brushedwith Copic Marker E50. The layer was then adhered to a slightly bigger black layer. Next I stamped the chair again on a piece of October Afternoon Thrift Store paper. The pillow was cut out, sponged with Tumbled Glass Distress ink and adhered over the main image. A black Kaisercraft Rhinestone finishes off the main image.

ocllivelaughlf4a14beate.jpg

The card base is a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Wild Cherry cardstock (My Favorite Things) folded in half. A  1 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ strip of October Afternoon The Thrift store paper was adhered over a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of the same paper pack. The paper was sanded and then stitched to a 3/16″ bigger piece of Basic Black cardstock.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set. It was stamped on Ivory cardstock in Tuxedo Black Memento ink, cut out with Petite Oval Nestabilities and airbrushed with Copic Marker YG41. To finish off the card a red Gingham ribbon bow was attached the left of the image and more black Rhinestones were added to the top right and bottom left.

Every time I see a card made with OCL’s Treasured Friend set I get a bit home sick for the beach in Destin. I LOVED going there and was dazzled every time by the gorgeous white sand and beautiful turquoise water. I made this card for last Friday’s OCL’s sketch challenge as well as Friday’s Free For All challenge on SCS.

For this card I stamped the oval image in Rich Cocoa Memento Ink on Gina K.’s Pure Luxury Ivory cardstock, cut it out with Classic Oval Nestabilities and colored with Copic Markers (E00, E02, E41, E43, Y26, Y28, R00, R02, R81, R83, BG01, BG02, BG11). It was then layered on another Ivory oval, cut with the next size up die. Next is a piece of Kraft cardstock cut with Label 13 Nestabilities. I left the die on the cardstock and sponged it first with Vintage Photo, then with Walnut Stain Distress inks. On top of that I stamped the sand dollar image in Frayed Burlap.

ocltreasuredfriendocldt14.jpg

The card base is a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Kraft cardstock folded in half. The edges of the front as well as the inside were sponged first with Vintage Photo, then Walnut Stain Distress Ink. Once the ink dried, the edges of the card were sanded to show some of the Kraft cardstock.  A 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Ducks in a Row Patterned Paper was distressed and stitched  to a distresssed 3 15/16″ x 5 3/16″ piece of Gina K. Pure Luxury Ivory cardstock. Those layers were adhered to the card base.

Another piece of Ivory cardstock was embossed with Cuttlebug’s Textile Texture embossing folder, then cut with Label 8 Nestabilities. It was cut down a bit and stitched to a Kraft cardstock Label 8 die cut, which had the edges sponged with Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain Distress ink.

The sentiment is also from Treasured friends. It was stamped in Rich Cocoa Memento Ink on Ivory cardstock, cut out with Petite Oval Nestabilitiesand colored with Copic Markers (E 41, BG11, BG01, BG02). The flower was created by using a basting stitch on the top of the Lace, gatherering it up as far as it went and stitching the ends together. The flower was adhered with Scor-Tape and topped with a Bo Bunny Button.

To finish off the cards I added a three Pearl Kaisercraft Pearls in each corner.

ocltreasuredfriendocldt14in.jpg

For the inside of the card a 1 3/8″ x 3 15/16″ piece of Ducks in a Row Patterned Paper was distressed, layered on a piece of Kraft cardstock that had been sponged and cut with Scalloped Scallop Die-namics and stitched to a 3 15/16″ x 5 3/16″ piece of Ivory cardstock. A sand dollar image was stamped with Rich Cocoa Memento Ink  on the lower right of the patterned paper.

I made this card for three different challenges. It feels so good to be back participating in the challenges. I made this card for yesterday’s Free for All Challenge on Splitcoast, Just For Fun Stamps Color Challenge and Our Craft Lounge’s Sketch challenge.

I started by stamping Just For Fun Stamps Queen Anne’s Lace in Jet Black Archival Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock. The image was cut out with Label 8 Nestabilities and sponged with Wild Honey, Faded Jeans and Peeled Paint Distress inks while the die was still placed over the cardstock. Highlights were added with a white gel pen. It was adhered to a scalloped rectangle that I cut to the size I needed with the Long Scallop Rectangle Nestabilities.

jffsflowertriplechallengebj.jpg

The card base is a 4 1/4″ x 11″ strip of Neenah Solar White cardstock folded in half. A 3″ x 3 1/2″ square of Pink Paislee’s 350 Degree paper was distressed, sponged with Wild Honey and adhered to a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of paper from the same paper pack. Then the layers were attached to a 3 15/16″ x 5 3/16″ piece of Basic Black cardstock.

White May Arts Lace was wrapped around the layers. A small hole was punched on the right side of the image and white organdy ribbon (Michaels) was tied through it.  Five Pearl colored Kaisercraft Pearls were added to the top right of the image. To balance everything out I added the sentiment on the lower left.

The sentiment is from OCL’s Life Is stamp set. I thought the script of that set would go Fabulous with the image. It was stamped in Jet Black Archival ink on Neenah white cardstock and cut out with Petite Oval Nestabilities. I sponged Wild Honey over it while the die was still over the cardstock.

jffsflowertriplechallengein.jpg

For the inside of the card I stamped the Queen Anne’s Lace in Faded Jeans Distress ink on Baja Breeze cardstock. The edges of the layer were distressed and sponged with Tumbled Glass Distress ink. It was stitched to a 3 15/16″ x 5 3/16″ piece of Basic Black cardstock and adhered to the inside of the card.

I hope you have a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by. Hugs and smiles

So while I was in my stamping slump, Monica Pendleton showcased a wonderful tutorial for Tissue Flowers on SCS. I shot the video for it, but didn’t create a card. I finally used my flower to create a card that would work for the Just For Fun Color Challenge this week.

oclbigthankstissueflowerbj.jpg

My card base is a 6″ x 7 1/2″ piece of Gina K. Ivory cardstock folded in half. The lower 1/3 of the card front was embossed with Cuttlebug’s Victoria Embossing Folder. The 2 3/8″ x 6″ piece of My Mind’s Eye Just Dreamy 2 paper was sanded, then sponged with Antique Linen Distress ink. The 5/8″ x 6″ Chocolate paper strip is also from the Just Dreamy 2 Collection. The upper edge of the paper was paper pierced. The sentiment is from Our Craft Lounge’s Big Thanks and was stamped in Walnut Stain Distress ink.

oclbigthankstfinside.jpg

The strips on the inside of the card measure 1 1/2″ x 6″ and 3/8″ x 6″. They were sanded and sponged with Antique Linen ink. The sentiment was stamped with Walnut Stain Distress ink. A small flower was added to tie everything together.
