I haven’t played along the Waltzingmouse Sketch challenge. When I saw yesterday’s sketch I just had to play. A heart inside a circle? LOVE that!

I cut and embossed a heart with a Classic Heart Nestabilities dies out of Cosmo Cricket Odds & Ends paper. It was sanded and adhered to a scalloped heart cut and embossed out of  Neenah Solar White cardstock with a Classic Scalloped Heart die.

A 2″ wide strip of Odds & Ends paper was adhered to another piece of the same paper pack. The paper was cut and embossed with the smallest of the Grand Circle Nestabilities die. The edges of the paper were sanded and the layers were stitched to a piece of Solar White cardstock that had been hand cut into a slightly larger circle. White Crochet Lace was adhered to the left hand side of the vertical strip before the layers were adhered to the Kraft cardstock card base, cut and embossed with a Grand Scalloped Circle Nestabilities die.

The heart layers were adhered to the left hand side of the card. A sentiment from You’re Lovely was stamped in  Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a piece of Solar White cardstock, cut and embossed with a Fancy Tag die. The inner part of the sentiment was sponged with Antique Linen Distress ink and two small flowers of that set were stamped in the same color for added texture.

The sentiment was adhered to the lower left of the image and three small Zva Creative Flowers were adhered to the lower left of the sentiment. Parts of a Finesse Rhinestone Swirl finish off the card.

Okay….so I  am about 10 hours late posting, but I did it. Here is my sample for today’s sketch challenge at the Waltzingmouse Blog.

I started out by picking one of the gorgeous patterns of Cosmo Cricket’s Odds & Ends paper. The blue on top of the card was cut with a Grand Label 4 Nestabilities die and adhered to a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of the same paper (other side side). The bottom corners were rounded with the Corner Chomper and a border was sewn around the edges.

May Arts Gingham ribbon was tied around the blue layer before the layers were adhered to the card base, a 4 1/2″ x 11″ piece of Kraft cardstock folded in half. The bow was topped with a heart cut out of burlap and a button.

A sentiment from Waltzingmouse Rescue Remedies Additions was stamped in Walnut Stain Distress ink on a piece of Natural White cardstock, cut and embossed with a Parisian Accents die. The center was sponged with Antique Linen and the edges with just a hint of Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. A decorative swirl from Fanciful Phrases was stamped on top and bottom of the sentiment with Antique Linen.  Baby bling pearls and a pearl swirl from Want2Scrap finish off the card.

Saturday means another sketch challenge over at the Waltzingmouse blog. Unfortunately storms rolled through Edmond for the last four days. A lot of times weather like that means migraines for me. I wasn’t feel well enough to stamp. But I thought I should at least show you the sketch!

Squares to Cherish....cut in half

I am finally back in the swing of things…that includes getting back to my weekly challenges. I love participating in the Waltzingmouse sketch challenges. I like to combine the sketches with the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger. Somehow they always work together.

The crochet squares in the inspiration photo have little “knobs” that reminded me of the beaded part of Spellbinders Beaded dies. I loved all the white and light blue in the image and went with that. I didn’t have paper that went completely perfect with it, but I thought Melissa Frances 5th Avenue paper worked pretty well.

Two 3″ x 4″ pieces of polka dotted paper were cut diagonally to . The diagonal edge was stamped with a stamp from Waltzingmouse Oval – Classic Frames set in Jet black Archival ink. Neenah Solar White cardstock strips were cut and embossed with one of the Parisian Accent die and adhered under the diagonal part of the triangles. The layers were adhered to a 4″ x 5″ piece of patterned paper, also from the 5th Avenue paper pack.

The top right corner was rounded with the corner chomper. The layers were adhered to a 1/4″ bigger piece of black cardstock before the edges of the triangle pieces were paper pierced. Black Silk ribbon was tied around the layers before those were adhered to a card base, a 4 1/2″ x 11″ piece of Solar White cardstock. Again the top right corners of the black as well as the card base layer were rounded.

The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Cameo to Go stamp set. White cardstock was cut and embossed with the largest of Spellbinders Tag Trio (retired, sorry), sponged with Tattered Rose Distress ink and stamped with the same ink with a stamp from Waltzingmouse Cameo Creations. The sentiment was stamped in the center with Jet Black Archival Ink. The tag was tied to the ribbon bow with Iridescent Curling ribbon from May Arts and topped with one of Tim Holtz Buttons.

The Cameo and frame stamps are both from the Cameo Maker set. They were stamped in Jet Black Archival ink, let dry and then cut and embossed with the second largest die from the Beaded Oval Nestabilities set. With the die still on the layer was sponged with Tattered Rose ink. The layer was adhered to the card base with dimensionals.

Another piece of white cardstock was cut and embossed with a die from the Parisian Accent pack. The corner swirl was sponged with Tattered Rose ink and adhered to the top left of the card base. Want2Scrap Baby Bling White Pearls on the tag, Cameo Oval and corner swirl finish off the card.

Four Flowers

Today’s Waltzingmouse Sketch is an easy and fun one. Four squares on a square card base.

For my sample I cut four 1 3/4″ squares out of Neenah Solar White cardstock. A partial image of one of the stamps from Roses in Bloom was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on all four squares and colored with Copic Markers (Red: R08, R27, R39    Blue: B21, B23, B26   Orange: YR00, YR12, YR15, YR18   Yellow: Y11, Y13, Y15, Y17   Flower Center: E97, E99, E29).

A border was stamped on the edges of the squares that were not covered with the flower image with a stamp from the Fancy Phrases stamp set. The squares were adhered to a 1 7/8″ black cardstock squares.

A 4 1/4″ square of MME Lime Twist Fly A Kite patterned paper was stitched to a 3/16″ bigger piece of black cardstock.  The layers were adhered to a white cardstock base that had been cut and embossed with the second smallest die from the Scallop Square Grand Nestabilities dies.

The image squares were adhered to the card base with dimensionals. A sentiment from Roses in Bloom was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, cut and embossed with one of the new Ribbon Banner dies and colored with Copic Markers (B0000, B21).  Silver Kaisercraft Rhinestones on the banner and the top right image square finish off the card.

Saturday morning means a Waltzingmouse Sketch post. I love participating in the sketches. While I love, love, LOVE coloring cute images with my Copics it’s nice to have the Waltzingmouse challenge to balance it out a bit.

Again I combined the sketch challenge with this week’s Tuesday Trigger. It’s a good one. White/Orange/Red bowls….what’s not to love? I was inspired by the colors and the little flower on the white bowls.

Last week I received my latest order of Waltzingmouse Stamps with the new Large Doily stamp set. I stamped several of the stamps from that set in Fired Brick and Wild Honey Distress ink on a 3 3/4″ x 4 1/2″ piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock. The layer was stitched to a 3/16″ bigger piece of black cardstock.

A 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Solar White cardstock was folded in half. The lower edges were cut and embossed with one of the Grand Square Nestabilities dies.  White Organdy Ribbon was tied around the lower half of the stamped layer before the layers were adhered to the card base.

A frame from the Vintage Label 10 set was stamped in Jet Black Archival ink on Solar White cardstock and cut and embossed with a Label 10 Nestabilities die. The sentiments are from Waltzingmouse new stamp set called Say It Loud. The image layer was adhered over the ribbon with dimensionals.

A black Recollections Rhinestone swirl was cut in two pieces. The bigger swirl was adhered to the upper right hand side of the stamped layer, the small swirl to the lower left of the image layer. A Prima Flower next to the bow finish off the card.

It’s time for another Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge. 12 little circles on a card front. It took me a while to figure out what to use. I kept on hoping my new stamps would arrive, but by Friday I had to give up and use one of the sets that I already had.  I looked through my Waltzingmouse stamps and picked the Fleur De Lis image from Vintage Label 2 set.

I love to combine the Waltzingmouse sketch challenge with the current Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger. Cath always finds the best inspiration images for us! I picked the colors from the image. The Fleur De Lis image isn’t quite the diamond shapes of the plate, but I thought it would work well. I like how the black Fleur is so solid in front of the sponged and stamped blue background.

 

I cut and embossed 12 circles with one of the Classic Circle Nestabilities dies out of Neenah Solar White cardstock. First I stamped the Fleur in Jet Black Archival Ink.  The die was placed back over the cardstock circle and one of the textured frames was stamped over the circles with Tumbled Glass Distress ink. The edges of the circle were sponged with the same ink.

A 2 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Stella & Rose Hazel MME patterned Paper was adhered over a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of the same paper pack. The two bottom corner were rounded before the layers were stitched to a 3/16″ bigger piece of black cardstock.

The circles were adhered to the layers with dimensionals. May Arts Organdy Ribbon was tied around the horizontal strip before the layers were adhered to the card base, a 4 7/16″ x 11 1/4″ piece of Textured Whisper White cardstock (Stampin’ Up!) folded in half.

The sentiment is from Fancy Phrases. It was stamped on white cardstock with Jet Black Archival ink that had been cut and embossed with a retired Spellbinders die (at least I think it’s retired, I can’t find it anywhere to link to). It was adhered under the bow.

A big fleur was cut and embossed with a die from Spellbinders Antiquities die. It was adhered above the bow. Silver Kaisercraft Rhinestones in the center in each stamped Fleur as well as in the cardstock one finish off the card.

It’s time for another fun Waltzingmouse Sketch! For my sample I started by cutting two strips of Neenah Classic White cardstock with one of the Jumbo Scalloped Borderabilities die.

 

 

I sponged one of the strips with Bundled Sage Distress Ink, the other with Spiced Marmelade Distress Ink. Next I stamped a border strip from Text-It over each border with the same inks.

I picked the colors from this weeks Tuesday Trigger challenge. I love the soft colors and with the skirt being striped, I thought it fit this sketch perfectly.

The bottom corners of a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Springtime Echo Park Paper were rounded and stitched to a 3/16″ bigger piece of Kraft cardstock. The bottom corners of the Kraft piece were rounded as well.

The scallop layers were adhered on top of each other on the upper part of the layers and  May Arts Taupe Silk Ribbon was tied around it.The bow was topped with a Coral button.

Everything was adhered to the card base, a 4 3/16″ x 10 3/4″ piece of Classic White cardstock folded in half. A sentiment from Fancy Phrases in Frayed Burlap Distress ink to finish off the card.

I think Claire really wants me to get good at CAS cards. This weeks sketch really calls for another one. I wish I already had the new Doily stamps from Waltzingmouse stamps, but I just ordered those on Thurday. So I picked my Victorian Frippery set.


I stamped the big circle of the set in Broken China Distress ink twice on a 3 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ piece of white cardstock. Around the upper circle I added more stamps from Victorian Frippery in Spiced Marmelade and Shabby Shutter Distress inks.

The two bottom corners were rounded before the layer was adhered to the card base, a 7 3/8″ x 5 11/16″ piece of black cardstock, folded in half. The bottom corners were rounded and the edge that was not stamped on, was paper pierced.

A sentiment from Fancy Phrases was stamped in Jet Black Archival ink to finish off the card.

Today’s sketch included something new for me. A tassel or as Claire told us, a dangly bit. 🙂 As inspiration I used  the image for this weeks Trigger Target, the Polka Dotted Hullabaloo.

I love the Gray/Yellow/Red/White combo of the fabric and used that as my color combo. The circular shape I tried to incorporate with my pearl accents.

My card base was cut out of Basic Gray cardstock with one of the Grand Nestabilities Label Eleven dies. A piece of Pink Paisley Hometown Summer paper that was cut with the next size smaller die. A piece of Solar White cardstock was hand cut to a slightly bigger layer. The layers were stitched together after a piece of lace was adhered to the left hand side.

A few pearls and glass beads from Stampin’ Up!’s Pretties Kit were tied to a piece of white Organdy Ribbon. That ribbon was stitched to the top of the lace.

One of the stamps from the Vintage Label Four set was stamped in Fired Brick Distress ink on Solar White cardstock and cut and embossed with a Label 4 Nestabilities dies. The swirl is from the same set and was stamped into the label with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. The sentiment is from Fancy Phrases and was also stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

A Recollection Pearl swirl was adhered to the upper right hand side of the card. The label was adhered to the lower half with dimensionals. Two black Kaisercraft Pearls on the label finish off the card.
