Here is my last card for last weekend’s VSN. It was for the X marks the spot challenge where we were supposed to create a Criss-Cross Card.

For my sample I used a little image from Tiny Wishes from Penny Black. It was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock. It was cut and embossed with a Petite Oval Nestabilities die and colored with Copic Markers ( Leaves: YG01, YG03, YG17     Flowers: Y13, Y15, Y17, E97, E99, E25 RV000, RV10, RV21      Mouse: E30, E31, E33, E35, R00, R01      Ground: E11, E13, E15, E18      Sky: B0000, B000, B01 ). The image was adhered to a piece of Canyon Brown cardstock, cut and embossed with a scallop oval Nestabilities die.

The Criss-Cross Card base was created out of Kraft cardstock. White cardstock was layered with Pebbles Happy Go Lucky Paper. The strips were adhered around the card and May Arts Organdy Ribbon was tied around it. The image was adhered to the card front with dimensionals.

The card insert is a 3 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Solar White cardstock. a 1 3/8″ strip of Pebbles paper. The orange paper was cut with a small Circle Nestabilities die and layered on a piece of Canyon Brown cardstock cut and embossed with a scallop circle Nestabilities die. The circles were adhered over to the center top of the insert and part of it was cut off. A Basic Grey button was stitched to the center of the circles with Honeydew Twine.

A sentiment from the Tiny Wishes set was stamped on the upper right hand side of the strip with Jet Black Archival ink.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

As soon as I bought my first Penny Black stamps I had to participate in the Penny Black Saturday challenge. I created this card for the sketch.

I started by stamping an image from Eat Cake in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock. It was cut with the largest of the small Classic Oval Nestabilities dies. The image was colored with Copic Markers (Pants: BG70, BG72, BG75, BG78   Shirt: Y17, YR15, YR18, R14, R27, R39   Fur: E0000, E41, E42, E43, E44    Blush: R000    Turtle Shell: E81, YG93, E87      Turtle: YG01, YG03, YG67    Grass: YG61, YG63, YG67   Sky: BG0000, BG10, BG11) and adhered to a piece of Canyon Brown cardstock, that had been cut and embossed with the largest Beaded Oval Nestabilities die.

A 4 7/8″ square of MME Stella & Rose Mabel paper was stitched to a 3/16″ bigger piece of Solar White cardstock.  Melissa Frances white ribbon was adhered to the left hand side and May Arts White Organdy Ribbon was tied over that. Three Recollections flowers were added on top of the bow.

The layers were adhered to a 5 1/4″ x 10 1/2″ piece of Kraft cardstock folded in half and Snow Kaisercraft Pearls were added to the lower right of the card base.

A sentiment from Tiny Wishes was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a 1/2″ wide strip of Solar White cardstock. The right end was cut into a banner edge. A button was added to the left hand side with Honeydew Twine.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

For Saturday’s Sweet Stop sketch I decided to use this darling image from Penny Black’s Tiny Wishes Stamp set. The hedgehog was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Solar White cardstock. The image was cut out with Classic Square Nestabilities dies and the Out of the Box Technique.

The image was colored with Copic Markers ( Hedgehog: E40, E41, E43, E44, E47, E49   Mushrooms: T0, T1, T4, E01, E02, E04   Ladybug: R27, R59   Grass: G24, G28   Sky: B0000, B000, B01) and layered on a piece of Canyon Brown  cardstock, cut and embossed with a Beaded Square Nestabilities die. The edges of the image layer were paper pierced.

A 2 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ piece of Stella & Rose Hazel Paper was adhered to a 4 3/4″ square from the same paper pack. Melissa Frances white lace was adhered on the bottom of the horizontal strip before the layers were stitched to a 3/16″ bigger piece of Canyon Brown cardstock. Brown May Arts Organdy ribbon was tied above the lace.

The edges of a 2 1/2″ x  3 1/2″ piece of Hazel and a 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ piece of Stella & Rose Hattie Paper were stitched before they were adhered to the center of the layers along with the image layers. All the layers were adhered to the card base, a 5 1/4″ x 10 1/2″ piece of Kraft cardstock folded in half.

A sentiment from the set was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Neenah White cardstock which had been cut and embossed with a Spellbinders die. The embossed part was colored with Copic Marker B0000. Recollections flowers as well as Champagne Kaisercraft Pearls finish off the card.

I hope you have time to try out the sketch. Having “crooked” layers is hard for me, but it was fun. Always nice to be pushed out of the comfort zone.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day.
