I created this card a while back for a Featured Stamper Challenge at Splitcoaststampers. The featured stamper that day was Tenia Sanders-Nelson. She has an amazing gallery of CAS cards. While those are not easy to make for me, I gave it a whirl. I picked Tenia’s Trick or Treat card and used Winter images from Lawn Fawn’s Cute Critters in the Snow.

I cut and embossed three circles out of Neenah Solar cardstock with Classic Circle Nestabilities dies. The small penguin image was stamped in each center with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored with Copic Markers (Y15, Y17, YR15, C0, C1, C3, C5, C7, BG10, BG11). Glitter was added underneath each Penguin.

The card base is a 6″ x 6″ piece of Kraft cardstock folded in half. The card front was embossed with a Snowflake Embossing folder from Sizzix. A 3/4″ x 5 3/4″ piece of Echo Park Walk in the Park was stitched to a 1 1/2″ x 5 3/4″ piece of Echo Park Holly Jolly Christmas cardstock, after the bottom corners were rounded. Before the layers were adhered to the card base, May Arts Organdy Ribbon was tied around the paper strips. The ribbon was topped with a Basic Grey Button tied on with May Arts Silver Curling Ribbon.

The images were adhered over the ribbon with dimensionals. Silver Rhinestones and part of a Finesse Rhinestone Swirls finish off the card front.

Here is a card I made for one of last weeks VSN challenges. This challenge was to create a white card. We were allowed to add some color to the main image.

I chose the cute ice bear from Lawn Fawn’s Critters in the Snow. It was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock cut and embossed with a Classic Oval Nestabilities die. The bear was shaded with Copic Markers (R00, R20, C00, No, N1) and the background was sponged lightly with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. Smaller snowflakes from the Critter set was stamped in second generation on the background and the bottom was covered in Chunky Crystal Crafty Sparkles.

Another piece of white cardstock was cut and embossed with the next size up Classic Oval Nestabilities die. A 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Solar White cardstock was embossed with the Snowflake Embossing Folder. The edges of the embossed layer were stitched before the oval was adhered in the center. A 2″ x 5 1/4″ strip of white cardstock was scored with in 1/8″ increments with my Scor-Pal and adhered over the oval.

White organdy ribbon was tied around the horizontal layer and topped with a button that was tied on with iridescent curling ribbon. Snowflakes were cut out of Acetate and white cardstock with the Whimsy Snowflake die . Some snowflakes were added to the layers with white brads.

A sentiment from the Critters in the snow was stamped on a thin strip of white cardstock, formed in a banner and attached to the oval with a layered snowflake. Small pearls were added to centers of some of the snowflakes. The layers were adhered to the card base, a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of white cardstock, folded in half.

Today is my last Friday as guest design member over at La-La Land Crafts. I can’t believe August is already over. Time is just flying by! I had fun with these darling images and you can have too! Check back for more tomorrow.

The challenge today is to create a Winter Themed card. Marcie with  Snowman is the perfect image for that. I stamped her in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock, cut her out and colored her with Copic Markers (Reds: R24, R29, R39   Orange: YR12, YR15, YR18   Yellow: Y11, Y13, Y15   Skin:  E50, E51, E53   Hair: E33, E37, E29   Lips: R01, R02  Carrot: Y17, YR12,  YR15   Scarf: YG00, YG01, YG03  Snow: B0000, B000).

A piece of gorgeous A Girls Paperie Jubilee paper was cut and embossed with the smallest of the Grand Circle Nestabilities die. It was stitched to a slightly bigger (hand-cut) piece of white cardstock. Each line was stitched as well. White Organdy Ribbon was tied around it.

A sentiment from Lawn Fawn’s Critters in the Snow was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a piece of white cardstock that had been cut and embossed with the retired 5 in 1 Tag from Spellbinders.  The center was sponged with Wild Honey Distress ink and small snowflakes from the set were stamped also in Wild Honey over it. The tag was tied to the bow and topped with an orange button with silver curling ribbon.

The patterned paper circle were adhered to the card base, a piece of Canyon Brown cardstock, cut and embossed with one of the Scallop Circle Grand Nestabilities dies. Recollection silver half pearls on the patterned paper and Stardust Stickles on the snowman and snowball finish off the card.

The inside of the card was kept very simple. Just a strip of the same paper stitched to another white cardstock circle.

Tonight and tomorrow is Virtual Stamp night over on Splitcoaststampers. It kicks off at 5 p.m. EST! Something on this card was made to fit the first challenge. Just saying!!!

I am out today hanging out with Jenn and Sharon watching Lori teach the Copic Certification class. I hope you have a great day as well! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and smiles

Here is another card for last weekend’s VSN challenge. For this challenge we were to use a stamp with a bird, bright colors and make it a square card.

I had bought this darling Spring has Sprung image from Stampavie a few month ago at my LSS and still hadn’t used it. Perfect for this challenge. I stamped the image in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock. The image was cut and embossed with Classic Circle Nestabilities die. The image was colored with Copic Markers (Birds: B000, B21, B23, Y15, Leaves: YG01, YG03, YG17, Grass: YG21, YG23, YG17 Branch: E25, E29 Puppy: E30, E31, E33, E34, E35, E37, E000 Flowers: Y13, Y15, Y17, E97, E99, E29 sky: B0000, B000).

The image was adhered to a piece of black cardstock, cut and embossed with the largest Beaded Circle Nestabilities die and the edge was paper pierced.l

The card base is a 5″ x 10″ piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock scored at 2 1/2″ and 7 1/2″.  Two 2 3/8″ x 2″ pieces of Echo Park Playground paper were adhered to a 2″ x 4 1/2″ piece of Pink Paisley Hometown Summer patterned paper. The layers were stitched to a 3/16″ bigger piece of black cardstock. Green Organdy ribbon was adhered over the left hand strip and tied around the right hand. The layers were adhered to the sides of the card base and the image was adhered with dimensionals to the left hand side of the card base.

The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn’s Critters in the Forest stamp set. It was stamped in Tuxedo Black on Neenah White and cut with a Circle Nestabilities die. It was adhered to the lower left of the image with a dimensional. Split Pea Kaisercraft Rhinestones finish off the card front.

I decorated the inside of the card to match. I didn’t use patterned paper for the yellow layer, but a piece of So Saffron.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have  a wonderful day!

Moxie Fab World’s Tuesday Trigger is fast becoming my favorite challenge. Cath always picks amazing images to be inspired by. This weeks had me a bit stumped at first.

But then I turned the stitching lines from the napkins into a paper pierced border, the button tag in patterned paper and overall kept sewing as inspiration and buttons as one of my focal points.

For this card I started out by finding just the right patterned paper for the focal point background. After looking through my stash I settled on a paper from My Mind’s Eye Stella Rose Gertie collection. I cut it down to 2 7/8″ x 3 5/8″  and stitched ti with turquoise thread to a piece of Canyon Brown cardstock cut and embossed with a Scallop Rectangle Nestabilities die.

I stamped the dress form from Lawn Fawn’s Sew Lovely stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Kraft cardstock. The image was colored with Copic Markers (Dress: BG000, BG01, BG13, stand: E43, E44, E47, dress form: E50, E51, E53) and a white gel pen.  It was cut out and adhered to the lower right hand side of my stitched panel.

Three buttons from My Mind’s Eye and Cosmo Cricket were stitched to the upper left hand corner with Cappuccino Twine.

The card base is a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock folded in half. On top of that is a 3 15/16″ x 5 3/16″ piece of Kraft cardstock. A border had been drawn with a brown Micron pen and inside that drawn border another border was paper pierced.

The image layer was adhered to the card base with dimensionals. The sentiment from the same set was stamped in Tuxedo Black on a piece of Solar White cardstock that had been cut and embossed with one of Spellbinders Fancy Tag dies. The sentiment was adhered over the the dress form with dimensionals and Scor-Tape to create the curved look. Two pearl pins I had picked up at a hobby store in the sewing section were stuck through the dimensionals to add a little bit of extra interest. Aqua Marine Kaisercraft Rhinestones on each end of the sentiment panel finish off the card.

I had a BLAST making this card for a Way to Use it Challenge on SCS. We were to make a card decorated with black pen. I started by stamping flowers from Lawn Pawn’s Petite Florals in Jet Black Archival ink on a Label 1 Nestabilities die cut out of Whisper White cardstock. Next I started doodling with a black sharpie until the entire piece was covered.

lawnfawndoodlewt271.jpg

The background was layered on a 3 7/8″ basic black cardstock square. Three of the corners were corner rounded. The card base is a 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Core’dinations cardstock

The sentiment is from Unity’s Rockin’ it Unity Style. It was stamped in Jet Black Archival Ink on Whisper White cardstock. I cut the left hand side banner style and added a Basic Gray ribbon to the left side of it.

I finished off the card by adding Silver Kaisercraft Rhinestones in the center of the flowers and Startdust stickles over some places.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day! Hugs and smiles

Last week I received the Lawn Fawn set Sew Lovely. I had to try out the darling dress maker doll image right away. I created this card for the Midnight Madness Sketch challenge from last week. I stamped it on Neenah Solar White cardstock on Tuxedo black Memento Ink. It was cut with Label 11 Nestabilities and colored with Copic Markers (R81, R83, R85, C1, C3, T3, T5, E41, E43, BG72, BG78). It was layered on a slightly bigger piece of Black cardstock.

lawnfawnsewlovelymmsc54bj.jpg

The card base is a 4 1/4″ x 10 3/4″ piece of Solar White Neenah cardstock folded in half. A 3 9/16″ x 4 13/16″ piece of Ducks in a Row October Afternoon Paper was sanded and adhered to a 3 3/4″ x 4 7/8″ piece of Basic Black cardstock. A strip of May Arts Crochet Lace was taped to the left hand side and the layers and lace were stitched together. The layers were adhered to a 3 15/16″ x 5″ piece of Rose Romance Cardstock before the layers to the card base.

The sentiment is also from the Sew lovely set. The right side of the sentiment strip was cut with decorative scissors. The card was decorated with Basic Gray buttons and Prima Flowers. The big gorgeous flower is from the Madrigal Blossom pack, the pink flowers are Strawberry Hydrangea Prima Flowers.
