I created this card for a CAS challenge at Splitcoaststampers. I had seen one of Debby Hughes cards (I am a big fan) and saw a layout I just had to case!

I started by cutting one edge of a 3 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock with MFT’s Notebook Edge Die-namics die. A piece of My Mind’s Eye Six by Six Gnome Sweet Gnome paper was adhered behind it to form a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card front. A button was tied on with hemp cord on the upper corner before the layer was adhered to the card base, a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Kraft cardstock, folded in half.

The bottom corners were rounded and a leaf from JustRite Stampers Shabby Chic Autumn Leaves was stamped on the lower right corner with Peanut Brittle Memento Ink.  A sentiment and postage stamp image were stamped over it with with Jet Black Archival ink. Three black rhinestones on the top right finish off the card.

This card works perfectly for the newest Simon Says Stamp Challenge which is called Autumn Leaves. I hope you have time to participate. You could win a $50 shopping spree at Simon Says Stamp online store. I LOVE Simon Says Stamp.

Thanks so much for looking! Have a wonderful day!

Here is a card I made for a Clean and Simple Challenge. It was a color challenge (Aqua, Coral, Yellow and White). I had recently gotten MFT’s Retro Square Die-namics border die and thought it would be perfect for a clean and simple card. I cut one strip out of Berrylicious cardstock, one out of Cameo Coral (Stampin’ Up!) cardstock.

The strips were adhered to the left side of the card base, a 4″ x 11″ piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock, folded in half. The bottom corners were rounded….just because I LOVE to do that.

Three daisies were cut with MFT’s Upsy Daisy Die-namic dies out of Solar White cardstock for the petals, and yellow Bazzill paper for the flower centers. The flowers were adhered over the retro strips. Three Rhinestones from the Sleek Strips Silver Rhinestones were added to the borders, were the two strips overlap.

A sentiment from MFT’s My Favorite Sentiments was stamped in Jet Black Archival ink to the lower right corner. Part of a Finesse Rhinestone swirl next to the biggest Daisy finish off the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

Here is another super quick CAS card I created for an inspiration challenge on Splitcoaststampers. For this card I used the Empirical Style Pennants as inspiration piece.  The card base was cut and embossed with the largest Rounded Banner Stax out of Neenah Solar White cardstock.

A cage was cut out of black cardstock with a die from the Contemporary Cage stamp and die set. it was adhered with foam adhesive squares a bit off kilter. Part of a Fancy That! BorderBling was used as hanger to center the bird cage to the card. Bird pieces were cut out of My Mind’s Eye Honey patterned paper. The edges of the paper were sanded and the wing was stamped with a matching image from the set.  A black rhinestone was used as an eye and the bird was adhered to the cage with square adhesive foam.

A piece of white cardstock was cut with an MFT Sentiment Strip Die-namic die. A sentiment from Contemporary cage was stamped in to the right and the left end was cut off. Small diamonds from the Distressed Diamonds stamp set was stamped in Summer Sky Memento Ink over the sentiment panel before it was adhered to the upper left hand side of the cage. A little heart stamped in Ladybug Memento Ink was cut out and adhered to the top right of the sentiment panel to finish off the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

Sorry I am so late posting today. While I was good about participating in this week’s challenges at Splitcoaststampers, I was horrible at writing my blog posts for my creations.

I created this card for both Monday’s Technique Challenge (create your own polka dots) and Monday’s CAS challenge (sketch). I started by cutting Neenah Solar White cardstock and patterned paper from BBP All Hallow’s Eve with MFT’s Cameo die-namics die. Next I stamped the frame of the matching set in Jet Black Archival ink over the patterned paper frame. The image from Sweetest Pumpkin in the Patch was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and was colored with Spectrum Markers (Skin: FS2, FS3, TN2 Pumpkin: GB5, OR1, GB7, G10 Stem: DG2, TN2, GB7, GB10, TN7 Shirt: DG2, DG4 Pants: EB7, EB8 Hair: CT2, TN2, GB8 Background: BT1, BT2).

The card base is a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Kraft cardstock folded in half. The bottom corners were rounded.  A 5/8″ x 3 1/4″ piece of BBP All Hallow’s Eve paper was adhered to the lower right hand side of the card. A 5/8″  x 3 5/8″ strip of black cardstock was stamped in the polka dot background from MFT’s By the Numbers stamp set with Distress Embossing Ink and embossed with white embossing powder. The black strip was adhered underneath the patterned paper strip.

Two buttons were added with embroidery thread to dress up the card. I didn’t have the right color thread for my white button, so I colored with the the BT1 Spectrum Noir Markers. The image layers were adhered slightly over the paper strip with foam adhesive squares. A sentiment from the Sweetest Pumpkin In the Patch was stamped on the bottom left of the card to finish off the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful Saturday.

The  last Hope You can Count on Challenge last month was hosted by Lydia. She challenged us to disguise our style. For me that meant creating a one layer CAS card….because those are the hardest for me to make. I combined it with Monday’s CAS challenge, which was a color challenge: Chocolate, Ivory and Red.

I embossed the card front of my 4 1/4″ x 11″  Neenah Solar White cardstock card base with Stampin’ Up!’s Framed Tulip Embossing Folder. An image from Unity’s Confessions:  I Luv Unity stamp set was stamped in Rich Cocoa Memento ink once in directly on the card, once on MME Lime & Twist Life is a Party Patterned Paper. The flower stems on the card base were colored with Copic Markers G21 and G24. The flower heads on the patterned paper were colored with R08, R27, R39, cut out and adhered to the card base.

A reverse mask was cut for the card and the center was airbrushed with Copic Marker E31. A sentiment from I Love Unity was inked first with Antique Linen Distress ink, then the word unity was inked again with Rich Cocoa Memento ink before it was stamped at the bottom of the flower image.

Want2Scrap Rhinestones and parts of a Finesse Swirl were used to finish off the card. Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a wonderful day!

We are back home in Ohio. Ohio greeted us with a horrible rain storm and of course….gray skies. It was WONDERFUL to lay at the white beach at Destin, staring at turquoise water and blue skies. I miss living there a lot! Hopefully Oklahoma City will be nicer to us then the Ohio weather is. I miss seeing blue skies every day. Two more month…

I created a card this morning for yesterday’s Clean and Simple Rule of Third challenge as well as today’s Color challenge Certainly Bashful Breezes.

I started by stamping the thank you sentiment and double butterfly image from Crafty Secrets Sew Special in Rich Cocoa Memento ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock, that had been cut and embossed with a Classic Circle Nestabilities die. The image was colored with Copic Markers (Butterflies: YR21, 1/5th YR31, YG21, YG23, 2/3rd BG72, BG72, BG75    Background: B0000, B000). The layer was stitched on a piece of Canyon Brown cardstock, cut and embossed with one of the new Floral Motif Spellbinders dies.

The card base is a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Solar White cardstock folded in half. The bottom corners were rounded with my Corner Chomper.

A 1 3/4″ x 4″ piece of Early Bird Cosmo Cricket Paper strip was stitched to a 4″ square of the same paper pack. The bottom corners were rounded and May Arts Organdy ribbon was tied around the strip before the layers were adhered to the card base.

The image layer was adhered to the card with dimensionals. Stardust Stickles over the the butterflies and a Recollections Pearl swirl finish off the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!
