….before I even noticed.  Here is just a small Fresh and Fun Freebie to celebrate the Milestone that just snug by.

img_8640-002.jpg

Ribbon, ribbon and more ribbon.  There are small pieces in it from my bin at my desk. It was overflowing and in need of emptying. There are bigger gorgeous pieces of May Arts ribbon in it. All in all it’s a 6x6x6 priority box full of ribbon!

If you are interested in having a chance to make it all your own and roll in it (optional, but fun choice), please post a comment under this post. Let me know what is a must have on your cards.

You guys know that for me, it’s some kind of stamping with All in a Row and brads. Optional and most likely you will also find something in chocolate chip, ribbon and punching going on. I am big into circular shapes as well.

Please only one comment per person. I will draw a name Friday morning at 9 a.m. with Random.org.

  12. Wow, wow, wowie! 550k hits……that is incredible!

Im a sparkly gal, always have been since I was little. If a shirt had sparkles on it I wanted it! And now that I make cards I find that it’s rare that one sneaks by without some glitter or sparkle somewhere.

Also sponging, cant make a card without it somewhere.

    Entry #12

  13. Wow – that sure is a lot of visits. I will admit that I visit daily. My new must have on a card is paper piercing along with ribbon or brads.

  14. Beate,
    Congrats on 550,000 – WOW!
I would say that I use punches on most every card I make – it adds so much to the card, just a simple ticket corner punch for the layers makes all the difference!
    I DO love ribbon, too!

    Entry #32

  33. Just a bit ago there wasn’t a single comment to this and now there is over 30! What a popular blogg! And with good reason, Beate is great! Anyway, on to your question….. I think I use brads alot, but my stamping friends will tell you ribbon. Nothing frustrates me more than to finish a card and then decide it needed ribbon!

    Entry #33

  38. Hi Beate,
For me it has to be a crystal or a bit of glitter BUT having just organised my ribbon as seen on my blog ribbon is becoming a fast fave.I have made a unit for my ink pads and my ribbon at fingers reach on my desk so using this should be achievable.

  41. OMG, wow, don’t think I will live long enough go get anywhere near that number. Congratuations. Lets see a must have, hmm that is tough, but since I have just come extremely proficient at tying bows, would have to go with ribbon and bows..

    Entry #41

  42. I love ribbon! I very seldom make a card that doesnt have some kind of ribbon on it! I love distressing too but seem to be using it less now.

    Entry #42

  43. Ribbon, ribbon, and more ribbon. I just think it helps ‘finish’ a card. I have such a hard time creating masculine cards because my husband thinks that any kind of ribbon is girly. I have more ribbon than I know what to do with, but that box of ribbon would be like Christmas to me!

    Entry #43

Thanks for the chance at all that yummy ribbon – it’s something I never have enough of, or the right color, etc. Congrats on 550K! That’s truly impressive and I enjoy looking at what you create and share.

    Entry #47

  48. Hi Beate,

I just have to have some ribbon or glitter on my cards. Even the girls in my workshop complain if there is no glitter or ribbon on at least 1 of my cards.

    Entry #48

  49. Anything that adds a bit of glitz when doing girly cards – ribbon, glitter, sparkly brads, die cuts in mirror card. Love the card where you were forced to use that pink – think it turned out great with the grey. Your cards are so artistic. Thanks for allowing us to see what you do.

    Entry #49

    Entry #58

  59. I have to admit that ribbon is my favorite thing to add to a card. It can dress up any card and it can be done so fast. My second option would be brads or pop up dots.

  63. Wow, what great ribbon. To be honest with you Beate, I am still trying to find my “style” and don’t have anything that has to be used. I have such trouble putting anything on my cards. Unless I CASE, my cards look horrible. So, maybe it will come with more experience. I do love the looks of ribbon on a card, but then I find I don’t have the right colors. Oh well. I hope I win this so I can try to match up colors!!! Thank you so much.

    Entry #67

    Entry #71

  72. My must have on cards is…RIBBON!!! Whenever I have a stamp camp, the group always asks, “How many cards have ribbon this month?” and then they usuallly ask me to tie it or give them a finger so they can tie it….not the middle one either 😉

    Entry #72

  73. I have been in a rut of lots of layers and sparkle. I have been trying to keep it a bit cleaner by utilizing more “white space.” However, I love patterned paper and use it on almost every card I make. Oh, and Chocolate Chip is my favorite CS, too.

    Entry #73

    Entry #103

  104. I’d love to roll in that gorgeous pile of ribbon! A must for my cards is… ribbon! I should make a point of using more primas, though. I have quite a collection and I feel guilty when the beautiful flowers just sit there in their pretty little jars.

    Entry #110

  111. I have great difficulties in avoiding inking/staining all the edges of the papers with fluid chalk…it’s such a great effect! Apart from that, my white ZIG gel-pen is used in all my cards, to highligt things in the motive or to make “stitches” around the edges.

Thanks for this little competition, and congratulations on your milestone!!

    Entry #111

  112. Wow…who can’t have too much ribbon…that happens to be a must have on my cards along with some brads. Congrats and thanks for sharing!

    Entry #125

  126. Right now I am into patterned paper. I think it adds so much to a card. I love it. And of course, I almost always put ribbon on my cards.

    Entry #126

  127. I love anything round, a stamp, an embellishment, a punch, paper, etc. It just seems to offset the boxiness of the card and give it some extra zing!

    Entry #127

  128. Congrats On all the hits. Your log is amazing.
I can’t seem to make a card unless I have ribbon somewhere on it.
Plus I seem to be reaching for my scallop punches a lot.

    Entry #128

  129. Congrats on 500K Beate! Cards feel naked to me without brads and ribbon. Of course since I got my cuttlebug, I’m hard pressed to produce something without texture – even if it’s just a tiny little bit…he-he.

    Entry #129

  130. Congrats on your 550,000 hits. I must say I visit here often just waiting for you to post something new. So if you ever feel like you are being stalked it’s probably me! My must of a card is my ticket corner punch, just can’t do a card without it. Also pattern paper, I used to dislike it on my cards but thanks to you I am seeing it in a whole new light. Lately it seems like everything I stamp has the Holy Triptych set in it but I am working on a project right now that doesn’t so that is about to change. Thank you for a fanatasic blog that keeps me inspired to stamp, stamp, stamp! Tonya

Must haves for me are patterned paper and ribbon!

    Entry #215

  216. My must have(s) are ribbon, like most people, but lately, I can hardly complete a card without at least one punch! But I must ask, Beate, when you use All In a Row for the faux stitching, how do you achieve the look you do? When I try it, part of hte imprint seems to be “missing”. In other words, the two layers of cardstock don’t seem to allow me to get the full impression, no matter how hard I press. Any suggestions? Thank you soooo much for the constant inspiration you freely share with all of us, your devoted fans! You’re such a blessing!

    Entry #216

  217. Ribbon, ribbon and more ribbon, oh if I would be so lucky to win! Love ribbon as much as paper, and tend to hoard it just as much as paper!

  230. Congrats on all your hits, you offer such a wonderful blog full of inspiration and great tutorials along with funny chit chat. I always enjoy stopping by. 🙂

As for my favourite element, I would have to say for the most part it’s embellishing. I like to fancy my cards up, I’m not much for Plain Jane cards. That’s the fun of card making, the time you put into a card. Ribbon is a favourite, so of course I’m drooling at your giveaway assortment! Pick me! Pick me! lol 🙂

Thanks for the chance to play!

    Entry #230

  231. Well…without a doubt…first I MUST have some sort of background stamping….even if I have a teeny little “edge” of c/s showing, covered by designer paper…I MUST have that little edge background stamped. I also would have to say, almost every card I make has a brad or an eyelet on it somewhere…most likely a brad, but, I still use eyelets, even though they aren’t as “trendy” as brads!!! Another element that is most likely to appear on my cards is ribbon…all kinds of ribbon! I like silky ribbon, rough grosgrain ribbon, sheer ribbon, ribbon with stripes, ribbon with polka dots, ribbon ribbon ribbon. Back to the must have question though…I can’t think of a card I’ve made without background….

    Congrats on the hits!

    Trudi

  318. Up here in Canada where the weather can be cold, I have to layer and layer some more, then wrap everything in ribbon lots and lots of ribbon and finally a little bling (SUp’s new Rhinestone Brads)

    Entry #318

  319. A must have on my cards is almost always my pop dots. I just can’t seem to get away from them. They are my most fav thing to use when I think my card is lacking something. I just take them and raise up the cutest item on the card. I also love my chocolate chip ink. I find I use it alot to stamp out my bella images because I think it keeps the edges softer than the black. Congrats on your milestone.

    Michelle

    Entry #319

  320. Congrats on so many views!! I’m not surprised either-yours is one of my ALL TIME favorite blogs!! Your work is beautiful-you’re such an inspiration!
I think I too have to go with ribbon. It’s the one thing, I think, I can say is on most all my cards. Ribbon can just give a card that ‘little something’ it needs.

I almost always put it on card somewhere though; just a little piece folded and tucked under the edge of an image, sometimes a piece knotted and glue-dotted on.

    Entry #322

Thanks for sharing your talents with us, Beate–you ROCK!
