This week’s color challenge on Splitcoast was tough. Night of Navy, Glorious Green and Real Red!

 pun-fun-boyish-birthday-chi.jpg

I decided to added as much white as I could and make it a boy card.I still had the cuttlebugged piece I for the tutorial on Sunday. So I used that on a 4 1/4 square Night of Navy card. I stamped the Argyle from Classic Backgrounds on the unembossed center strip in Glorious Green. Red grosgrain ribbon was tied underneath.

I stamped the little chick from Pun Fun in Black Stazon on Whisper White. It was colored with Real Red, Night of Navy, Glorious Green and More Mustard and Blender pen and layered first on Glorious Green, then on a 2 1/8 x 2 1/2 piece of Night of Navy.

The card still looked super plain, so I stamped the dotted star from Classic Backgrounds in all three colors, punched them out with the small star punch and added them with hardware to the top right of the image.

Personal Note:
Thank you all for your birthday wishes.  I had a great day. Granted, I spend all morning and afternoon in the kitchen baking my favorite cakes and later making twice baked potatoes. But it was worth it. We had our friends who live next door over last night and had a great time.I will share pictures of my cakes with instructions later. I have errands to run all morning. I can’t wait for a day where I have nothing planned and can play with my birthday gifts. I give you a hint what I got myself. I talk about them all the time and there are new sets out. Plus….those are the rage and I couldn’t stand it any longer. I needed some too.
