Here is my first card that I tried my hand on for the color wash tutorial.

I always stress about the tutorial sample. Ultimately this one I rejected because I always seem to use these soft colors and I chose brighter ones.

The card base is s 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock folded in half, layered with a 4″ square of Old Olive Prints Designer paper.

The Ruby Red scallop square is punched and embossed with the square Nestabilities die templates. It was layered with a 3 1/4″ square of Chocolate Chip cardstock and topped with the 3″ watercolor paper.

I used More Mustard for the Watercolor. The flowers from Heartfelt Thanks were inked with Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie (inside of flower head) and Ruby Red (edges of flower head) Markers and stamped on the bottom left. The outline stamps and the sentiment were inked with Brown Palette Ink.

I added a big paper pierced edge on the top right corner and 5/8″ vanilla grosgrain ribbon around to finish the card off.

I don’t know about you, but now that I have placed my first order, I am getting very excited. The beautiful new ribbon and paper, the gorgeous new stamps and the awesome new punches!!! I can’t wait to get them. Although after not stamping much for three month, I am a bit afraid that I might have lost my mojo. You guys have to go easy on me on my first new postings!

Have a wonderful day! We have a trip to the beach planned. Although it’s raining here right now. I hope it will stop soon.

Hugs and smiles

Beate
