Most of you probably know Julie Ebersole. She is an amazing stamper, was a team member of SCS and is the Creative Teams Director of A Muse Artstamps. I had the pleasure of meeting her twice. She is such a sweetheart.
Well….Julie approached me and asked if I could make a sample for a fundraiser A Muse is starting today. I had to say yes! Not only would I do almost anything for Julie, but this fundraiser is for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. My Dad died of Leukemia one day before Rebecca was born. How could I say no?

Last year, Linda Carnell, owner of A Muse Artstamps, designed a calendar to raise funds for Scleroderma Research, an illness her mother suffers from. The project was so successful, that she was determined to expand the variety of calendars, and find another great cause to support!In honor of Victoria Nelson, an avid fan of A Muse, who is undergoing treatment for Hodgkin’s Disease, 100% of the proceeds from the sale of this year’s calendar will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
This year’s Calendar features 16 months and includes Sept 2008 through December 2009. It also includes a perpetual calendar which is great for keeping track of birthdays and anniversaries.
The calendar has been designed in several different sizes.There are THREE donation levels per calendar. The minimum donation is $4 per calendar, but, there is also an option to donate $10 or $20 for each version.We hope people will enjoy stamping these calendars as fun projects and gifts for friends and family, while contributing to a great organization at the same time!
I printed out the beautiful square calendar pages, cut them down to 4″ squares and decorated them with Stampin’ Up! stamps and paper.
I just don’t have enough A Muse stamps to make it all A Muse.
The calendar was bound together with the Zutter Bind-It-All machine and a 1″ silver wire.
I order my postage stamps online from USPS.com. They always come with great sturdy cardboard pieces to keep the postage stamps sheets straight. I keep them for BIA projects. I cut two down to 4 1/2″ squares for my Calendar front and backing.
The cardboard front is covered with Urban Garden Designer Paper. The bottom part measures 3″ x 4 1/4″, the top 1 7/8″ x 4 1/4″. In between I taped a thin strip of Whisper White cardstock that was punched with the Scallop Edge Punch. I covered the front of the back cover the same way. The insides are covered with a 4 1/2″ square of the Olive paper from Ski Slope Designer Paper. I tied 5/8″ Baja Breeze Ribbon around the top.
The frame is from Frames & Flourishes and was stamped in Chocolate Chip ink on Whisper White cardstock. 2009 was stamped with the Short Order Numbers in Old Olive. I cut out the frame, added Flower Flusions II flowers with an Ice Circle Rhinestone Brad in it’s center to the left of the frame and taped everything down with dimensionals.

All calendar pages have 1 3/8″ x 4″ pieces of Designer paper on top with a 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Ski Slope Designer Paper taped over the bottom edge.
January’s 1 3/8″ x 4″ strip of paper is from Ski Slope Designer Paper.
Over the Chocolate Scallop circle is a 1 3/8″ paper pierced Ski Slope paper, with a Pink Pirouette Snowflake from Best Wishes & More. The center of the snowflake was stamped with Night of Navy ink on another piece of Whisper White, cut out and adhered to my Pink Snowflake.
The designer paper strip for February is from the Bella Rose Designer Paper pack.
The scallop circle here is topped with a 1 3/8″ Ski Slope paper circle.
The heart is stamped in Riding Hood Red on Whisper White. It’s from the Best Wishes & More stamp set.
The paper strip for March comes from the Ski Slope Designer Paper.
So does the 1 3/8″ circle on top of the Chocolate Chip scallop circle.
The Butterfly is from the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set.
The solid image was stamped in Red Riding Hood on Whisper White cardstock. I stamped the outline butterfly over the solid image in Chocolate Chip. I stamped the outline again on Ski Slope Designer paper, cut out the wings and taped it over my Whisper White butterfly.
The paper strip for April is from Urban Garden Designer Paper, the paper for the circle from Bella Rose Designer Paper.
The bird from Best Wishes & More was stamped in Baja Breeze on Whisper White cardstock and cut out.
The paper strip on top the May page is from the Ski Slope Designer paper, the paper in the circle is from the Urban Garden Designer Paper.
The flower is again from the Best Wishes & More stamp set. It was inked with Baja Breeze, the edges were inked with the Chocolate Chip marker before it was stamped on Whisper White cardstock and cut out. I stamped the flower again in Chocolate Chip and punched out it’s center with the 3/4″ circle punch. That circle was adhered to the center of my blue flower.
June is one of my favorite pages.
Both the paper strip as well as the paper circle are from the Urban Garden Designer Paper.
The flowers are the small flower from Inspired by Nature.
I inked it up with Old Olive marker on the stem, Red Riding Hood ink pad for the flower head. Next I added shading with the Chocolate Chip marker on the top of the flower, and more Red Riding Hood ink with a Fantastix with bullet tip. The image was stamped on Whisper White and cut out. I repeated the steps to make my second flower.
July’s paper strip is from the Ski Slope Designer Paper pack, the circle from the Bella Rose Designer Paper.
The star is from Holiday Trinkets.
It is stamped in Red Riding Hood on Whisper White cardstock, cut out and adhered to my circle.
For the August page, the paper strip is from the Bella Rose Designer Paper pack, the circle from Ski Slope Designer Paper.
I figured March and August are spaced far enough apart so I could use the bird from Best Wishes & More one more time. This time I stamped it in Night of Navy on Whisper White and cut it out.
Both the strip and the circle on the September page are from the Ski Slope Designer Paper.
The leaf stamp is from Best Wishes & More. I inked it up once in Riding Hood Red, added Night of Navy with a marker on the edges, stamped it on Whisper White and cut it out. Next I inked it with Old Olive, inked the edges again with the Night of Navy Marker and cut it out again.
October and November pages stumped me a little.
I couldn’t believe that with all the stamps I own, I only have one Halloween set and no Thanksgiving sets.
Both paper strip and circle are from the Urban Garden Designer Paper.
The stamp is from Eat, Drink & Be Scary from the upcoming Holiday Mini catalog.
I stamped the hat in Chocolate Chip Craft ink on Ski Slope Designer Paper.
I cut a small strip or Riding Hood Red cardstock for my hat trimmings, sponged the edges and taped it down.
For November, the paper strip is from the Urban Garden Designer Paper, the circle from the Ski Slope Designer Paper.
After debating forever about what to use, I settled on the gratitude definition from Define your Life in a frame from Frames & Flourishes. Both were stamped in Chocolate chip ink on Whisper White cardstock.
The paper strip for the December page is from the Ski Slope Designer Paper, the circle from Urban Garden.
The tree from Holiday Trinkets was inked up with Chocolate Chip and Old Olive Markers, stamped on Whisper White cardstock and cut out.
When I started working on this project, I was a bit overwhelmed with the number of pages to fill. I started by cutting two strips of 1 3/8″ x 4″ designer paper from each design and adding the chocolate chip strip under it.
Next I punched the 12 chocolate scallop circles and topped it with 1 3/8″ designer paper circles, again two of each design. Then I went hunting for matching stamps.

Lovely calendar Beate! That was an awesome thing you did for A Muse. Thank you! My father died from Leukemia at age 52. I have a soft spot for that cause.

I’ve seen these wonderful calendars popping up all over the web, but I don’t know which size to order. You said these were the square ones cut to 4″. Do you know what size the A2 ones would make? I’m wondering if they would fill the whole 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 space and how much room would be left for decorating? Also, once you receive the download, can you print out more than one copy?
The calendar is fabulous. I would love to do a similar project and maybe even involve my customers. They could download their own calendar blanks from the Amuse Calendar site. A question about the calendar paper – is it a nice grade of print paper or is it heavier weight like a cardstock? Looks to me like to ordered the square option which comes in a full page and cut that, correct? I so enjoy your work and how you have so generously shared your art and time with us. Thank you
In honor of your dad and all of the generosity of your spirit, I bought three calendars today. Instead of using the Bind It since I don’t have one, I am following your sketch design but Anna Wright’s design using rings as you suggested. Thought someone else may want the site too. Beate – Thank you for another beautiful project. I ordered two different calendars and love them. My husband died 15 years ago after an eleven month battle with NonHodgkins Lymphoma – I am glad to support this endeavor.
I LOVE the calendar idea but where do you find the calender sheets? Did I miss something in your description? Gorgeous project!
