Today’s tutorial on SCS is written by Aleesha. She shows us how to make a medallion with Stampin’ Up!’s scallop edge border punch.

I had to try it out right away. As starting point I used yesterday’s Color Challenge on SCS. The color combo given was Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss and Chocolate Chip. You know that as soon as I saw that, I had to participate in the challenge. Kiwi and Chocolate are two of my favorite colors!

I started with a 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock folded in half.

Next is a 4″ square of Whisper White layered with a 1 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ piece of Kiwi Kiss Designer Paper on top and a 2″ x 3 3/4″ piece of Hawaii Papaya Designer Paper on the bottom.

5/8″ wide Chocolate Grosgrain ribbon was taped over the meeting point of the designer paper and White Taffeta ribbon was tied on the left hand side.

I made three medallion, two out of Chocolate Chip, one out of Whisper White. I cut the Whisper White one down 1/8″ on each side and adhered it to one Chocolate chip one. Then I took the other Chocolate chip medallion and only cut the inner scallop part out. That was taped over the center of the White one. A 1 7/8″ square of Tangerine Tango Cardstock was adhered on top of that.

For the main image I stamped the sentiment from A Happy Heart in Chocolate Chip on the bottom right of a 1 5/8″ square. I cleaned the stamp and inked up the flower from the same stamp with my Tangerine Tango and Kiwi Kiss pad. It was stamped to the left hand side of the square.

Easy peasy card.
