Here is my last card for last weekend’s VSN. It was for the X marks the spot challenge where we were supposed to create a Criss-Cross Card.

For my sample I used a little image from Tiny Wishes from Penny Black. It was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock. It was cut and embossed with a Petite Oval Nestabilities die and colored with Copic Markers ( Leaves: YG01, YG03, YG17     Flowers: Y13, Y15, Y17, E97, E99, E25 RV000, RV10, RV21      Mouse: E30, E31, E33, E35, R00, R01      Ground: E11, E13, E15, E18      Sky: B0000, B000, B01 ). The image was adhered to a piece of Canyon Brown cardstock, cut and embossed with a scallop oval Nestabilities die.

The Criss-Cross Card base was created out of Kraft cardstock. White cardstock was layered with Pebbles Happy Go Lucky Paper. The strips were adhered around the card and May Arts Organdy Ribbon was tied around it. The image was adhered to the card front with dimensionals.

The card insert is a 3 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Solar White cardstock. a 1 3/8″ strip of Pebbles paper. The orange paper was cut with a small Circle Nestabilities die and layered on a piece of Canyon Brown cardstock cut and embossed with a scallop circle Nestabilities die. The circles were adhered over to the center top of the insert and part of it was cut off. A Basic Grey button was stitched to the center of the circles with Honeydew Twine.

A sentiment from the Tiny Wishes set was stamped on the upper right hand side of the strip with Jet Black Archival ink.

I created this card as a challenge entry for the Come Find the Treasure! VSN challenge. We were to create a card and hide something in the card.

I hadn’t created a Big Buckle Card in a very long time and thought it would be the perfect time to create one for the challenge and then use it as a sample for the video tutorial for that technique.

I recently had purchased the Life is Good Technique Tuesday stamp set at my LSS and thought it would be perfect for a Buckle card. I stamped the image in Jet Black Archival ink on Echo Park Playground paper. The image was cut and embossed with a Classic Circle Nestabilities die. The sky was sponged with Tumbled Glass Distress ink, the ground with Shabby Shutter Distress ink before the image was adhered to a piece of black cardstock, cut and embossed with a Floral Doily Motif die.

The card base was created out of the Neenah Solar White cardstock. The left hand side of the card front was lined with a 2 1/4″ x 5″ piece of Echo Park Playground paper that had been stitched to a  1/4″ bigger piece of Kraft cardstock. Before the stitched panel was adhered to the left hand side of the card front, a white cardstock strip was cut and embossed with the Floral Doily Accent border die and adhered under the panel.

A 1 7/8″ wide strip of Echo Park Little Girl paper was adhered to a 2″ wide White cardstock strip. The corners of the right end were rounded, the left end was adhered under the 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Kraft cardstock that was adhered to the inside panel of the card.

The sentiment is also from Life is Good. It was stamped in Jet Black Archival Ink directly on the buckle. Part of the sentiment is hidden to comply with the challenge. The smaller sentiment (really good) that comes with the set, was stamped on the inside of the card underneath the panel. Silver Recollection pearls finish off the card.

Here is another card for last weekend’s VSN challenge. For this challenge we were to use a stamp with a bird, bright colors and make it a square card.

I had bought this darling Spring has Sprung image from Stampavie a few month ago at my LSS and still hadn’t used it. Perfect for this challenge. I stamped the image in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock. The image was cut and embossed with Classic Circle Nestabilities die. The image was colored with Copic Markers (Birds: B000, B21, B23, Y15, Leaves: YG01, YG03, YG17, Grass: YG21, YG23, YG17 Branch: E25, E29 Puppy: E30, E31, E33, E34, E35, E37, E000 Flowers: Y13, Y15, Y17, E97, E99, E29 sky: B0000, B000).

The image was adhered to a piece of black cardstock, cut and embossed with the largest Beaded Circle Nestabilities die and the edge was paper pierced.l

The card base is a 5″ x 10″ piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock scored at 2 1/2″ and 7 1/2″.  Two 2 3/8″ x 2″ pieces of Echo Park Playground paper were adhered to a 2″ x 4 1/2″ piece of Pink Paisley Hometown Summer patterned paper. The layers were stitched to a 3/16″ bigger piece of black cardstock. Green Organdy ribbon was adhered over the left hand strip and tied around the right hand. The layers were adhered to the sides of the card base and the image was adhered with dimensionals to the left hand side of the card base.

The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn’s Critters in the Forest stamp set. It was stamped in Tuxedo Black on Neenah White and cut with a Circle Nestabilities die. It was adhered to the lower left of the image with a dimensional. Split Pea Kaisercraft Rhinestones finish off the card front.

I decorated the inside of the card to match. I didn’t use patterned paper for the yellow layer, but a piece of So Saffron.

I created this card for last weekend’s VSN challenge called ARRRR. The challenge was to create a card with at least three things on there starting with an R. That made me think of the shoe house image from Taylored Expressions Cozy Cottages. It has a Roof! I used Red, round shapes, Rhinestones, Ribbon and the word Road in the sentiment.

I started the card by stamping the image in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock. The image was cut and embossed with a Classic Circle Nestabilities die and colored with Copic Markers (Shoe: R22, R24, R27, R29, N0, N1, N3, N5, N7   Roof: E23, E25, E27, E29   Grass YG01, YG03, YG17).

Next I placed the circle die back over my image, added a few clouds cut with the Cloud Die-namic Die and airbrushed the sky with Copic Marker B02. The image was layered on a piece of black cardstock, cut and embossed with the next larger Circle Nestabilities die and the edge was paper pierced. The layers were then adhered to a piece of white cardstock that had been cut with the largest of the Eyelet Circle Nestabilities dies.

A 3 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Pebbles Happy Go Lucky patterned paper was adhered to a 4″ x 5″ piece from the same paper collection. The bottom corners were rounded before both layers were stitched to a 1/4″ bigger piece of black cardstock. May Arts Organdy Ribbon was tied around the strip before the layers were adhered to the card base, a 4 1/2″ x 11″ piece of Tempting Turquoise cardstock, folded in half.

A Recollection Rhinestone swirl was cut apart and cut and adhered to the upper right and the lower left hand corner of the card before the image was adhered over it with dimensionals. The sentiment is also from Crazy Cottages. It was stamped in Tuxedo Black ink on Neenah white cardstock and cut and embossed with a small Circle Nestabilities die. The inner part was colored with Copic Markers B0000 and Booo,

Friday started a VSN weekend  on Splitcoaststampers. I was a hostess this time. The theme of the VSN was Pirates. That reminded me of beach and ocean. So my challenge was a color challenge: Kraft, Sea, Aqua and light green. The dessert option was to add a splash of sunshine-y yellow.

For my sample I chose Flourishes Windows of the World. I stamped one of the images in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock. The image was cut and embossed with a Curved Rectangle Nestabilities die. The image was colored with Copic Markers (Flowers: Y13, Y15, 17    Flower leaves: YG01, YG03     Palm Leaf: YG01, YG03, YG05   Ocean: G0000, G000, G00     Sky: B0000, B000    Window: E41, E43) and the edges were sponged with Antique Linen Distress ink.
