After finishing the tutorial this morning, I knew I had some stamping to do. It’s the beginning of the month. I always send cards out to my downline. The top five in sales get a card from me. So I was doodling along, blog hopping, SCS browsing…everything but stamping and I saw Cami come online. I thought….hmmm….maybe if I challenge her, I get my work done and have more fun with it. I asked her if she would stamp a challenge with  me and she said yes.

I wanted her to pick the paper and stamp set but she said I should. I picked Au Chocolate Paper…I had something in mind with it. But Cami said she couldn’t find hers (LOL sounds like me). She suggested the new Paper Pad from Stampin’ Up!’s May special. But I didn’t preorder  and don’t have one yet. We finally settled for Petals & Paisley Designer paper and Big Blooms as stamp set.

I love Big Blooms, but whenever I want sit down with it I have a brain freeze. I took me a while to decide to try out the Joy fold again. Cami was so much faster creating her GORGEOUS card, it’s not even funny! I am not fast at creating projects, that’s for sure! Here  is what I came up with!

I started with a 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Taken with Teal cardstock and scored that at 5 1/2″. I layered a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of olive DP on the inside and a 2 3/4″ x 4″ piece of yellow DP on the outside.

Next I tried to find a saying that was big enough to be the center image. We don’t have too many of those in the Stampin’ Up! catalog. I settled for Friendshop Flowers and stamped the saying in chocolate chip on whisper white cardstock ( 2 3/4″ x 3 1/4″) . That looked quite bare. I added a doodle border and punched two corners with the ticket punch. I topped it off pink gingham on the bottom part.

The center flap is a 3″ x 7″ piece of Chocolate chip cardstock scored at 3 1/2″.  I stamped the small flower in So Saffron and added a 1/2″ circle punchout that was stamped in chocolate chip  with Little Pieces into it’s center. I taped it on with dimensionals and added a brad in it’s center.

The big flower is inked up with Regal Rose and stamped off once. Then I rock n’ rolled the edges with Rose Red classic ink. I added a smaller flower stamped in chocolate chip over that and topped it off with a saffron brad. The flower is mounted on three dimensionals and helps keep the card shut.

Three old olive brads finish off the card front.

On the inside I stamped more flowers in VersaMark directly on the card and added a panel to write a message. To tie the panel in with the front of the card, I punched two or the corners again with the ticket punch, doodled the border and added another flower.

I hope my downline will like it. Now I have to make five more! Have a great afternoon!
