  1. What great blog candy. My favorite sketch lately has been the gateway card sketch you encouraged me to try. (you can see it on my blog) I also like the rectangle with a triange wedge cutting horizontally through it. Congratulations on your blog success. You are very talented!

Hope you are enjoying your trip!

    Amy

  2. Congratulations on your accomplishment!! That is awesome! One of my favorite sketches is the following card http://entertainment.webshots.com/photo/2861688900038104613UEifcV. I don’t have a blog but have it on Webshots. My Webshots is http://community.webshots.com/user/chipblue57 if that link doesn’t work. Thanks for the fantastic blog candy!!!

  3. My favorite sketch is the your sketch from a few weeks back that has the layered circle to the right and then 3 circle/embies to the left.

  4. Oh fun blog candy Beate! You are so generous! Congrats on that many well deserved hits! I loved today’s SCS sketch challenge….SC128. Mainly because this card flowed very easy and I was happy with the result.

  5. Wow…that’s a hard one! I would have to say SC100…I used it for a swap I was in and couldn’t think of a layout. I really like how the card came out. Thanks for checking in while you are away and for the goodies!

  6. Beate – you are ALWAYS giving something away! I just LOVED your Pick a Petal card too 🙂 I love sketches; it so easy to find ideas for all my stamp sets. One of my favs is here (http://www.scrap-maps.com/sketches/cards/cards/ScrapMaps05_Card_06.jpg); it’s simple, and that makes it versatile, for large stamps or smaller stamps. I can’t wait to see all the sketches everyone posts!

    Thanks for the freebie offer!

  7. I can’t choose a favorite sketch… there are too many! I will give you a link to one of my favorites. It’s really simple, but that’s what I like:

  10. I have been whipping out the trifold cards lately. I really like that they are so different than a traditional card and you can tuck things in the little pockets. Thanks for the offer of blog candy…I was afraid when you said you were going to Germany that you would take some time off from posting…boy, was I wrong!

  11. Congrats on your hits, Beate!
Well – I have to say it is the card sketch from today on SCS – SC128 – since it is the ONLY one I have ever done! I liked it so much this moring – I just had to participate!!!

  14. I must say I like the one you posted last week (#5 I think). I will admit it confused me at first (just because I’m silly and forgot to trim my CS) but now I love it and have made 3 cards that way.
    Thanks and congrats!

  17. Hi Beate,
Congrats on 300 000 hits. That is an awesome number, but then, you have an awesome blog, so it’s well deserved. Isn’t technology wonderful? You’re in Germany right now, I’m in Australia and I can still get daily inspiration from your blog! I don’t have a gallery but I made a baby card using SC124 and just loved how it turned out. Make the most of every minute of your holiday.

  18. I love this sketch challenge! Since it uses one of my favorite types of cards, the square (rather than A4 style)!

I have made this one and it does make a nice card plus there is so much you can do with it. Here’s the link to the sketch I like http://beate.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2007/06/untitled-1.jpg

I hope that you have an awesome time in Germany visiting with your family. Have a wonderful, safe trip.

  36. This is a layout I really like: http://angel2stamp.wordpress.com/2007/05/31/a-challenge/
But I do love to try other layouts!

  37. Congrats on your million hits!!! (just a little exaggeration there!) You deserve it! I would have to say I love all your sketches, but the one I liked the most was the one with the curved paper in the middle placed over with a circle. I also like the gate fold even though I haven’t done it yet!

  38. Sketches are totally my favourite thing!! And there are too many to choose from but one of my faves was a sketch challenge on SCS. Here is the card I made with it: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/546538?cat=500&ppuser=38585

    Congrats on the 300K hits!

  96. My favorite is definitely your gate-fold cards. I also enjoy Wendy Johnson’s recipes in her Joy of Cardmaking Magazines and in Papercraft.

  97. I loved your gate fold card sketch. I used it for a friend’s bridal shower invitation. I’ll post it on my blog tomorrow. I love your blog!!!

This is a link to my first and absolute favorite layout. This is layout 124 on SCS. I have had fun with this one.

Hope you have a blast on your vacation.

  99. It is so hard to pick just one, but if I have to narrow it down to just one, then it has to be your gate fold card.
I love, love, LOVE, your gate-fold card!
The site is down, but here’s the link to your demo:

Such a beautiful card! Thank you for constantly sharing with us. Your work never ceases to amaze me.

  100. I kinda used SC85 to make a card that I used at the SCS Arlington, TX swap in April and it was my Father’s Day card for my dad.

  101. Hi Beate!
The success of your blog is amazing, but not surprising 🙂

My favorite card sketch is SC68.
It appeals to my sense of symmetry, and it’s so versatile. It is my go-to sketch.

This link takes you to Roxie’s description of the challenge:

    This is Trudee’s sample: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/222184

And here, Mandi turned it on it’s side: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/433377?si=sc68

  102. SCS Sketch Challenge 73 (or variations on this one) is an old standby for me. Whenever I’m stuck, this is where I turn.

  103. I love the gate fold card….looks so clever! Thank you for all the wonderful creations you show on your blog – they’re so inspiring 🙂

  104. Wow — what awesome candy! Doesn’t surprise me about the hits — good news travels fast and you have a great blog.

I love sketches because it focuses me and yet I still feel I am being creative (vs. doing a straight case). Right now, I love SCS #124, although I have not tried it yet. I did not like it at first, but a few cards have inspired me to give it a try. I also love sketch #15 on Amy’s blog http://heartfeltgreetings.blogspot.com/search/label/Super%20Sketch%20Sunday

I think you may have made a card with it a couple weeks ago? Anyway — sketches are awesome. Have a super day!
    Heather

  105. Hi, Beate,

My fav sketch is the one from your Blog Candy posting on May 11th — here’s the one I did for that:
    http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/555215?cat=500&ppuser=47971

    And SC104 is a close second: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=208689

    Congrats on all the hits!

  106. I can’t pick a favorite. I like to try new things all the time. I so enjoy your blog and you have been so friendly and helpful. Congrats on 300,000 hits. I hope you’re relaxing and enjoying your trip. TFS

  107. I like the gate card challenge that you had on last weekend. It was my favorite so far, although I tried a sketch from Sketch this and it turned out pretty nice as well. I will post that in a little while. Have to take care of the little one for now. Thanks and congrats on 300,000 that is simply amazing, but yet your work is very inspirational and I know that I visit everyday, so why wouldn’t most other people as well? Thanks!

  108. Beate,

I just discovered your website as I am new to blogging. Since I haven’t seen many of your sketch challenges I have to say your round one from today is my favorite. I am definitely going to try this one. Now I just have to figure out how to add a link so you can see what I came up with.

  109. I really like the current one. I just made a card and wished that I had seen this card sketch, it wouldv’e made my card a lot cuter!

  112. My favorite sketch is found on Maria Bell’s “Card Inspired” blog (she has lots) and was posted on June 14, 2007 (http://cardinspired.blogspot.com/2007/06/random-card-another-card-using-whipper.html). I like sketches with circles. I just did SCS’s sketch challenge SC128 and it’s found on my blog:

  117. Hi Beate!
Here is one of my favourite sketches: http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n169/doktorNina/kortskisser/kortskiss1.jpg
And here is the card I made from it:
    http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n169/doktorNina/dr.jpg
It’s in Swedish; “Tjena!” can be translated “Hi there!” 😀

Thank you for the inspiration you give by sharing all you wonderful work with us!

  118. There aren’t too many SCS sketches I don’t like. I have them copied and like to refer to them often. Here is the latest one I have done with Sketch 118 http://debbiedee.blogspot.com/2007/06/sweet-kitty.html

  119. Hi Beate,

  120. I’m not sure if this is my favorite sketch, but boy does it come in handy more than just about any other sketch I’ve seen. I don’t know what the original source would be, though. Here’s one of my uses of this sketch (the first of the two photos in this post):

For another variation, Heidi just posted a card with this sketch on her blog, too…

Congratulations, Beate, on 300K!!! I hope you are having a fantastic vacation!

  121. I LOVE the gatefold card sketch! My reason – I think it’s such a nice change from the standard card openings, and give the card’s focal point so much more drama! More “movement”!

Thanks, Beate! You’re such an inspiration!

  122. Hi Beate,
I like the SC13 on SCS. You can use this sketch for simple cards with designer paper and the stamped accents.
Hope that you are having a wonderful time in Germany. (My husband and I lived in the Koln region for a few months in 1996. It was my first European experience and we enjoyed it there.)
    Heather
