I had to do today’s Color Challenge for two reasons:

  •  One: Chocolate Chip was one of the three colors
  •  Two: it’s for a great cause. Read more about that in my next post.

Here is the card I made and already mailed to Victoria.

 true-friends-happy-day-for-victoria.jpg

The card base is a 5 1/4″ x 10 1/2″ piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock folded in half, followed by a 5″ Really Rust cardstock square.

The top half was stamped with stamps from True Friend and sponged around the edges.

The 2 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ piece of dotted paper is from the Dashing Designer paper pack. I used the ticket corner punch on the bottom corners and added Faux Stitching around it with my open Argyle stamp from  All in a Row.

I am sorry, but I already put the card in the mailbox. I am not sure about the measurements about the two next layers yet.

The rust patterned paper is from the Apple Cider Designer paper pack. It was faux stitched with the argyle stamp as well.

The flower from True Friend was inked with River Rock and Really Rust and stamped on Very Vanilla Cardstock. I added the dotted border around it with another stamp from All in a Row (Is there anyone out there yet, that doesn’t own this stamp set? You so NEED it!!!) I added a River Rock Rhinestone brad in the center (Ice collection).

I punched three 1/4″ circles out of River Rock cardstock, sponged them entirely with River Rock and the edges with Chocolate Chip. Those were taped down on the top right of the card and Antique Brass brads were added in the center.

For the greeting I stamped Happy and Day (Part of Birthday) from Fundamental Phrases in Chocolate Chip on a 1″ River Rock Circle. I stamped the Medaillon from True Friend in River Rock over it and sponged the edges first in River rock, then with just a tiny bit of Chocolate Chip. It was layered on a 1 1/4″ sponged Really Rust circle and a large oval punchout in Chocolate chip.
