Today’s tutorial on Splitcoast was written by Makeesha Byl. She created a darling rectangle basket, perfect for small Easter Eggs or other Easter treats.

My basket started out as a 4 3/4″ x 7 3/4″ piece of Chocolate chip cardstock. It was scored, cut and taped together just like in the tutorial. I created a 1 1/2″ x  15″ long strip of Just Dreamy 2 My Mind’s Eye paper. A 1″ x 15″ strip of Whisper White cardstock was punched with Stampin’ Up!’s Eyelet border punch and adhered to the top of my patterned paper. Then the patterned paper was adhered to the basket bottom.

The basket handle is a 1″ x 11″ strip of Chocolate strip cardstock layered with a 13/16″ x 11″ strip of Dreamy 2 paper. The ends were taped to the insides of the basket and a large brad was over the ends. White Satin Ribbon was tied to the handle.

The sentiment is from Verve’s Everlasting Life stamp set. It was stamped in Rich Cocoa Memento ink on Whisper White cardstock and cut out with Petite Oval Nestabilities. The white layer was attached to a slightly larger Chocolate Chip scallop oval and adhered to the basket with dimensionals. To finish off the basket I overlayed two Strawberry Hydrangea Prima flowers and topped them with a Recollections brad.

  10. Thanks for posting this video for the adorable Easter basket. I just finished making 9 of them for our Easter dinner table where they’ll also serve as place cards. Although it took awhile to make all nine, they were very easy to do!
